Putting on the skirt.

If you are a man, And if you are very careful about your appearance, you would be interested in putting on the skirt.

I have seen the men who wears the skirt a few times in Yamanashi University. One man's fashion style looks like a hippie. He was wearing some unusual clothes and accessories. Another man was properly dressed. And it seems that he was a smart dresser. Today, Some high-quality brand products various skirt for men as modern fashion. And we will able to buy some nice skirt for men in the secondhand clothes stores or the outlet stores. But I think it is difficult to take in the skirt in our fashion styles.

Do you know the kilt? Kilt is the traditional cloth in Scotland. Scotsmen wears it when they take part in some formal events. And they don't wear the underwear when they put on it. I was surprised about it!!

Putting on the skirt of man is interesting. I especially like the kilt because it is very cute. I would like to put on it someday.

Do you know oshare-megane? In Japan, glasses are more popular now. Even someone who has good eyesight wears glasses with no lenses. Black spectacle frames came into fashion. Glasses have developed recently. Why are glasses more popular? There are two reasons.

　First, there are many people who have a fetish about glasses. Some girls think that I’m kind of interested in boys who wear glasses, he will be good-looking if he wears glasses. Boys think that, too. Man who wears glasses is called ‘megane-danshi’. Woman who wears glasses is called ‘megane-jyoshi’. Megane means glasses, danshi means man and jyoshi means woman in Japan. Book which name is megane-danshi are sold in Japan. This book takes notice in Japan.

Second, if you wear glasses, you can change your looks and images. Also, if you change your glasses of wearing to suit the occasion, you may enjoy your fashion more and more. For example, you look striking when you go working, or you are all fired up for your fashion when you go to party, you are casual when you have private time. You can change your glasses more easy than change clothes if you want to change your looks and images.

　In Japan, glasses are more popular now. So I have oshare-megane. It’s very cute glasses which frame is a flower pattern, but color is cool. If I wear the glasses, I can change more casual and cute. Let’s try to get oshare-megane if you have chance!! Then you may change your image and looks!!

"Ganguro" girls in Japan!

Today, I will talk about "ganguro" fashion in Japan.

Do you know "ganguro"? It was the most popular fashion among young girls about 10 years ago. In Japanese, "gan" means face and "guro" means black. As that word means, "ganguro" is people who make up black like pictures. Somehow, they make up white only around eyes and mouth. I think they looks like the reverse panda. You may think they are very strange, but there were many "ganguro" especially in Shibuya. Of course, I was not.

What do you think about "ganguro"? It's funny fashion, isn't it? I want to know American fashion:) Please teach me ♪

Cosplay is very fun!

Hello! Today,I talk about Japanese fashion, especially "Cosplay"!! Do you know Cosplay? It is a shortened form of the English word "costume play". Lovers of animations or video games get into the characters. This event started in Japan and now, it spread all over the world. I found that Cosplay is very popular in some countries for one of the Japanese culture.

In the U.S, people have disguised in Halloween for a long time, but Cosplay means mainly disguising such as animation characters in Japan. And Cosplayers are usually in the special events, for example, the comic markets or the live concert halls. I have told in my blog yet, in my school festival, we have a costume parade. In the parade, many people do Cosplay!

One of the most famous Cosplayer is Shoko Nakagawa. Do you know her? She is very cute but crazy about animations. She is very popular idle and she has spread "Cosplay" in Japan. I yearn for her.^^* And she is a queen of blog in Japan. Her blog is very amusing and I recommend you looking it. In her blog, she publishes many her pictures and sometimes she does Cosplay!

Hi! I am Makiko. Today, I introduce uniform of high school in Japan. American students don't wear uniforms at their high schools,but many Japanese high school students wear uniforms to their high schools. Japanese high school students have duties to wear the uniforms when they go to high schools. Some of high school students hate the uniform of high school because they wants to dress in civilian clothes. But I like uniforms because I don't have to think about what to wear every morning.

Today, I talk about otaku fashion.

Otaku tend to wear glasses, because they abuse their eyes to play TV game and read comics very often. In addition, most of them are fat and pale skin, because they don't play sports and they are in the house in long time.

Also, they don't wear the trendy clothes, and they wear the clothes which are nerdy, and they wear them by their own method. For example, they tend to put a shirts in pants,

My dream is to travel around the world! There are three reasons why I want to travel around the world.

First, because I like to meet stranger. I want to meet and talk about each other country. I think knowing different way of thinking must improve me. I want to meet people on earth as possible as I can.

Second, to see various scenery in the world. Beautiful scenery make me happy. Each country must have each spacial scenery. I want to take many pictures of wonderful scene.

Third, because I want to eat special food in each country for example Chinese food, Thai food, and Mexican food. I can eat them in Japan, but I eat them genuine food at those country.

Those are reasons why I want to travel around the world. To come true this dream, I have to study English harder and harder. How about your dream? I wish your dream will come true someday!

Do you have one dream or some dreams? What kind of dream is it? I have three dreams in the future.

First, if I get a job, I want to be an English teacher in junior high school. I have yearned to be a teacher since I was junior high school student. Last month, I had three weeks of practice teaching. I had more hard times than happy times, but I was full of life when I taught English and students were gentle and cute. I learned important things from teachers and students. Then I had a precious time. I think this profession is the worth doing.

Second, if I get married, I want to have between five and ten children. How about you? My father has sixteen members of his family, so I long to become a big family. I like children very much and I want to have cheerful family. Someday, I want to appear on television for special section devoted to the big family.

Third, when I retire my job, I want to travel around the world. Before I die, I want to learn that I don’t know things. Also, I want to go sightseeing, see a lot of world heritage sites, meet many people, touch the culture, and share each other feelings or their sense of values.

I have three dreams in the future. If I achieve of my three dreams, I will be satisfied in my life. I hope all of three dreams come true!!

Hello♪ Today, I talk about my near future dream. Now, I'm sophomore in Yamanashi University and I have two things that I want to do in my university days.

First, I want to climb Mt. Fuji! I said before, Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. I've never climbed because I didn't have any confidence in my stamina. However, my friends who have ever climbed say "Mt. Fuji is very emotional!!!" I　envy them...^^; During the winter, Mt. Fuji is covered with snow, so there is dangerous. I'll try to do in the next summer vacation!

Second, I want to study abroad! Yamanashi University has sister schools in the U.S, the U.K. and Australia. My English skill is clumsy yet, but I study harder and I want this dream to come true★! Because I like communication with foreigners. Sometimes, I talk with international students in Yamanashi University. It's very interesting!! They have many different ideas from me.

I have more dreams, but these two dreams will change my life, I think. Now, I have many future dreams and can't choose only one. If I had these two emotional experiences, I might be able to decide my future dream!

I wany to be an editor of fashion magazine. I like reading a magazine. I spend all my spare time reading a magazine. I read all kinds of magazines. What is your dream? I have some dreams of future.

I want to be a national or local civil servant. I think this job is worth doing because I can work for the citizens of Japan. And also my father is a local civil servant in my hometown. He is proud of his job and I admire my father. The exams of national employee are very difficult so I will have to study as hard as possible. In fact, I started to study for it.

Also, I want to a travel agent. Especially, I want to do the works on traveling abroad. I think it is great to visit many countries through the job. Sadly, I've never been abroad. So I would like to study English very hard and save a lot of money so as to go abroad.

Another my dream is building my house. I hope to own a house someday. I want to make a soundproof chamber or studio in my house and hold a concert with my friends at there.

I have various things that I want to do in future. I think my dreams will come true if I always do my best on everything!! Making effort is indispensable for dreams.

Culture of dating

I think dating is exiting. There are various differences about dating in Japan and the foreign country.

I think that Japanese people are very shy. They would not like to express their love in the public. Contrarily, it seems that foreign people don't care that. In fact, I often see them who are kissing and giving their love a big hug in station or park. I can't do it like that.

When I eat out with my girlfriend, I usually pay her share. And most of my friends said that they paid more money than their girlfriend paid. What do you think about it?

I like to go shopping on date. Especially, Tokyo is great shopping area. A lot of clothing shops in there. So I never get tired of Tokyo.

Today, I'll talk about my ideal date plan. It must be fun^^!

First, I want to drive to Syosen goege. Do you know Syosen gourge? It's the best place in Yamanashi to visit in fall because colored leaves are very beautiful! I want to talk a lot seeing the wonderful scenery.

Second, at home, I want to watch the movie that we choose together. I like watching the movie at home because I can more relax better than I watch the movie in a movie theater. After the movie, I want to talk about impression of that with my boyfriend.

After watching the movie, in the evening, I want to cook dinner together. Of course, before cooking we have to go to the supermarket to buy ingredients. Cooking and eating dinner together are more fun than by myself.

If I had three-day weekend, I would go to south side of Japan,
because I have not been to south side of Japan. First, I'd like to go to Shimonoseki city. There is famous for puffer fish.
So in there I would eat puffer fish, because I have not eaten it yet. Then I would go to Kyusyu. contains 7 prefecture in there. Then, I'd eat each famous food, for example Salted cod roe with red pepper, Chinese noodle, mango and others. Finally, I'd go to Okinawa, and go to sea. In Yamanashi prefecture, there is no sea. So I wanna go to sea.

If I have a date,I want to go Kyoto. Because I love old Japanese culture. I once went to Kyoto on school excursion. Kyoto is the oldest city in Japan. There are many temples in Kyoto. The whole mountainside is ablaze with leaves in Kyoto. The maple tree must be at their best now. A lot of tourists visit Kyoto now. I want to take a walk with my boyfriend and talk about Japanese culture in Kyoto. So,I want a boyfriend who have the knowledge of Japanese culture. I want to stroll the streets with my boyfriends. Hello(o^∪^o) Today, I introduce the dating spots in Yamanashi! Actually, Yamanashi doesn't have fashionable place so much. However, I live in Yamanashi and I always search lovely places in Yamanashi. Yamanashi has many good places, but I didn't know before. I recommend some of that.

First, the most famous place in Yamanashi is Mt.Fuji. Near the Fuji, there is an amusement park. The name is "Fuji-Q Highland". There is just the right place for the first dating. We can enjoy many rides, but some of them are horrible... My recommendation for couples is a Ferris wheel. It's the most romantic ride and they can be alone.

Second, one of the very few fashionable places in Yamanashi is "RESORT OUTLETS YATSUGATAKE". There is in a forest, but there is a very large place and there are many fashionable shops. We can buy many goods there cheaper than other shops. Many young people like shopping! I'm one of them:) When I went there, many couples or married couples are there.

For myself, I like watching a night view. Yamanashi has some night view spots. I sometimes go with my boyfriend by a motorcycle. Now is winter! In winter, the night view is especially beautiful.^^* My favorite place is "Fruits park". There is one of the best three night view spots in Japan!!!

I want to tell more!! Yamanashi is very rural prefecture, but there are many lovely places. I search more from now on. If you came to Yamanashi, I want you to go my recommendation places!

Shall we go dating?

Do you like active person? I want to be my boyfriend who is as active as me or more active than me. If I have a active boyfriend, I want to do ‘active date’.

First, we’ll go hiking in a mountain. We may counter fresh and new things. Also we’ll breathe fresh air. What nice we can share and feel for magnificent nature!! Then, if we have a lunch, we eat lunch in a mountain hut. It’s especially delicious to have meal there because we’ll be tired and fresh food is used and it’s handmade.

After hiking, next, we’ll go fishing in the river. I never have gone fishing, so I want to try it. Then we’ll cook diner with we catch fishes and something else. We don’t have chance to cook outdoors in daily life, so I think we can really enjoy!!

Finally, we’ll go somewhere we can see a lot of stars. I like to see a night view, but I like to see stars so much. If we have some fortune, we can see shooting stars. It’s very romantic, isn’t it? If I see shooting stars, I wish ‘we want to spent all trough in our life’

If I have a outdoors boyfriend, I want to do ‘active date’. Someday, I want to meet such a person. And I want to dream come true for this date plan!!

Wonderful Weekend

If I had a three-day weekend, I would climb Mt Fuji. I have two reasons why I want to do it.

First, because the best time to climb Mt Fuji is about three days. We should to walk as slowly as we can because we will not be in mountain sickness. So, we should take longer time than you expected.

Second, because I want to see a beautiful scene from top of the mountain. You know, Mt Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. In fact, I have climbed Mt Fuji this summer, but I couldn't see the scene from the top
because of bad weather. So, I want to try again and see wonderful scene!

Great weekend

If I had a long weekend, I would go to Kyoto. I went there on a school excursion in junior high school. It is great memory!! There are many Japanese cultures and structures in Kyoto. ‘Kiyomizudera’ is a world cultural heritage. It is beautiful temple and a lot of nature around it. We can see various style of this temple every four seasons. I would buy ‘Yatuhashi’if I visit Kyoto. It is famous sweets as a souvenir from Kyoto. It is kind of a rice cake and it has various tastes. For example, chocolate, strawberry, melon….and so on. It is delicious. Do you know the young Japanese dancing girls of Kyoto? They are called ‘Maiko’. They put on unique makeup. They powder their face. They have a guest be amused by their dancing at a banquet. To my regret, I had never seen them. So I want to see them on next trip on Kyoto. Kyoto is great place so I want to visit there again. If you come to Japan, I recommend you go to Kyoto.

TDL is a wonderland!

If I had a three-day weekend, I would go to "Tokyo Disney Land (TDL)"! Do you know this amusement park? It's a wonderland!!!

There are many Walt Disney characters. They are very very cute and they make me so happy! I love them. The woman of the left picture is a character of "sleeping beauty". She is very beautiful.
There are also many beautiful and amusing places. There are many rides, many flowers, many shops. Many people in Japan visit there everyday.
I also think the charm of TDL is a seasonal event. When I went there last month, the park had Halloween show and parade. The right picture is the scene of Halloween ornaments. Now, the park may be decorated with Christmas ornaments. It's very cute, I think.
I went there many times, but I don't lose interest. I might be enchanted by the Disney Magic!

Fantastic weekend

If I had a three-day weekend, I would go to Hyogo and the western part of Honshu.

On the first day, I'd like to go to Hyogo. First,I want to eat many kind of breads. In Kobe city, bread is very famous in Japan. Do you know about it? Kobeya is known in Japan what is famous bakery shop. And there are many cafe shops and bakery shops in Kobe. I can eat delicious sweets there. Next, I want to visit Amarube steel bridge. Did you see 'Stand by me'? This bridge looks like bridge which is used this movie. I like this movie, so I want to walk with my legs.

On the second day, I'd like to go to Hiroshima. First, I want to visit the Atomic Bomb Dome which is a world heritage. I want to know and learn about war more and more. It remains the Second World War. It teaches us cruel and horrible things about the war. I want to see my eyes and feel my body. Next, I want to visit Itsukushima shrine. It was built in the Heian Era. Do you know about Tairano Kiyomori? He is very famous of a historical figure. He built it. And a torii is setting up in the sea. I think it looks very mystic. So, if I'm hungry, I want to eat Hiroshima okonomiyaki. It is as popular as Osaka okonomiyaki, so it is very delicious.

On the third day, I'd like to go to Tottori. I want to visit a sand hill. It has been before hundred thousand years. We may see beautiful a wave-like pattern made on the sand by the wind, special land form 'Suribachi' and sand hill plants. I think it is mystic and fantastic.

If I had a three-day weekend, I would go to Hyogo, Hiroshima and Tottori. Next spring vacation, I want to be realized this journey. After this trip, I'll tell you about my impression!

Hello^^ I'm busy everyday, but I enjoy everyday! I have 17 classes in a week in this semester. Mainly, I study about international culture. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I have a class until 8:00pm. However, I like studying, especially English and French, though the classes are very hard.

I have a part-time job in a movie theater. I work three or four times in a week. In my job, I sell movie tickets, cut the tickets, make and sell some drinks and popcorn. the movie theater has a lot of audiences in a weekend. It's a hard job, but I like this job because I like movie very much.
I belong to a school festival executive committee in Yamanashi University. This university has a school festival once in a year. This committee support the festival. This work is worth doing and the members of this committee are friendly. I love this committee.
I have a hamster for a pet. His name is "IKKYU". He is very cute:)

I usually wake up 8 o’clock. I have 15 classes in a week. Fortunately, I have only one first period class this semester. I’m happy because I’m not good at waking up early in the morning. I have a part-time job. I’m working at a restaurant three or four times in a week. I have been working there for about a year. Mainly, I wait on customers and serve dishes or drinks. My restaurant is famous for 'houtou' . It likes 'udon' and it is local specialties in Yamanashi. it is very delicious and you can eat various vegetables. I get used to working there,but it is too hard.

Hello, everyone. Today, I'll tell you about my daily life. I don't have lessons so much this year because I'm a junior. So, I live a carefree life now.

In the morning, I usually got up at nine. After making and having breakfast, I go to part-time job from at eleven to four. I'm working part-time job as a clerk in a pasta restaurant. Though it is hard work to me, I'm looking forward to eating pasta. I have a ten-minutes break between shifts, and I can have a pasta for free!

After working, in the evening, I cook dinner. I cook my meals myself as often as I can because it takes too much money to eat meals at restaurant frequently.

Then, I sometimes practice dancing at night. You know, I'm a member of the dance club in my university. Because I'm not good at dancing, I have to practice harder and harder... After finishing my practice, I come home at about ten in the afternoon.

That' s my happy daily life. It's a day when I have no lessons, I study hard when I have lessons. Do you want to live a life like that one? Please tell me your holiday life^^

Hi!! My name is Makiko. I am twenty-one years old woman. I am from Nagano. Eleven years ago,the Winter Olympics was held in Nagano. It often snows there as it is very cold,so children enjoy ski and skating in winter.The school has became a rest because of the snow before. My hobby is a trip.Last summer,I traveled one month to Britain with friends. I am not good at speaking English,but the travel was very fun. I saw various castle and museum there. Today, I tell you about my hometown. I live in Yamanashi prefecture now, but my hometown is Ehime prefecture. Have you heard this prefecture? You may have never heard that because Ehime is not very famous. Though it is not so famous, I think it is very nice place.

Ehime is famous for "mikan" and comfortable climate in Japan. Mikan is a kind of fruits like orange. In japan, people eat mikan at a "kotatsu" in winter. Also, I think it is very easy to live in Ehime because of a mild climate. It is not too hot in summer and it is not too cold in winter.

I want you to visit my hometown if you have a chance. I love my hometown the best in Japan!

I'm from Kofu city, Yamanashi prefecture. My hometown is very rural area. There aren't fashionable shops enough. That's a pity! However, there are many natural places. Peaches and grapes are special products of this district. I think one of the most delicious fruits is made in Yamanashi.
Furthermore, Yamanashi is a hot spring village. I don't like hot springs very much, but many tourists visit there every year.
Oh, now I remember, the most famous place of Yamanashi is Mt.Fuji!! Mt.Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan.

My hometown

My hometown is Uonuma city in Niigata Prefecture. Now, I live in Yamanashi Prefecture. It takes about seven and a half hours to get to Yamanashi from Niigata by train. I return to my home town about only three times in a year because it is too much trouble to return to there.

Uonuma is well-known for rice and sake. Koshihikari of Uonuma product is the brand-name rice which is the most famous in Japan. Many people of my town have one's rice field. Of course my parents' house makes rice, too.

And there are some beautiful mountains and rivers in my town. We can take many kinds of edible wild plants and fishes in there. Those are very delicious. And there are a lot of park and open spaces where nature is rich in my town. In my childhood, I played many sports or exercises with my friends in there. For,example, baseball, soccer, hide-and-seek and tag. it was too fun. My town is safe and stillness so there is good place to live. Please come to my town by all means if you like rice and sake and nature!!

My hometown is Kazikazawa, Yamanashi prefecture. Kazikazawa is small town, and about 4000 people is living there. There is famous for Cherry tree. In spring, there are 2000 trees in Mt.Oboshi. And there is country food called 'MIMI', Its name come from resembles agricultural tool called 'MI'. MIMI is made from flour, and knead it to shape of 'MI' and then put into 'Miso soup'. But there will merge with next town soon. So I feel a little sad.

☆★Tokyo Disney Resort Xmas★☆

The other day, I went to Tokyo Disney Land and Disney sea because I love Disney and my boyfriend "Nori" planed for me this Xmas date!! Yeah!!!★

That day, we arrived Disney Land about 9 am. They hold "Christmas season", that event is called "Christmas Fantasy" in Disney Land and "Harbour side Christmas" in Disney Sea. We have been there three times this year because 2008 is 25 years anniversary in Tokyo Disney Resort!! I wanted to get a lot of goods limited this year. And it is my dream to go there with my boyfriend....(＊∪v∪)★゜。 Finally, it came true☆

There was so beautiful!! Very big Christmas tree is at the entrance. At first, Nori went to " haunted masion " (I'm sorry but I don't know how to spell its name.) to get "fast pass ticket" which is a spacial ticket, if you have it, you can play the attraction, and I went a shop of caramel popcorn to buy it. We like it so much. It is delicious♪ Next, we got some original mugs and plates. It is my hobby to collect them.

Haunted mansion of Christmas version is "The Nightmare Before Christmas"!! I like jack, he dress a Santa Clause. That is the same as mits movie! "It's a small world " changes Christmas version, too. When I go its world, I always shed tears... Because I am moved by its songs, its view of the world, and its peace. Oh, yes,maybe I am a pure girl! haha.. After that we went shoping in world-bazaar. We ate rich lunch at East Side Cafe. They have a special christmas course dishes. I ate it and be satisfied. We are a kyudo club members, so we are good at shooting game! Nori can be a peace officer and he get its badge. But I couldn't....

That night, we went Disney Sea. There is a romantic world. We watch the show which is with water and fire. That is so beautiful, it is indescribable... We bought many goods there, too. And then, I was so tired and I had sore feet. I couldn't walk freely... Nori got angry with me, because I grumbled at him with everything his did. At last he leave me alone (;_;) So we quarreled in Land of dream.... I regret it now (><) But now, I get along with him(＊＾∀＾＊)b Thank you Nori! I had a wonderful time thanks of you. I love you!!!haha...

The World Of Dreams!!

What is "the world of dream"? It means YUMENOKUNI(夢の国) in Japanese. The answer is "Tokyo Disney Land(TDL)"!! We consider TDL the world of dream. I went there with my friends on December 7th.

Now TDL is decorated for Christmas. Micky mouse dressed up as Santa Claus. The other characters also do. I bought key ring of Pooh Santa. It's so cute!! I like it very much.

We rode a lot of attractions, for example "Space Mountain", "Splash Mountain", and "Big thunder Mountain". They are all roller coasters. We shouted for exciting.

When we were walking in the street of TDL, I found many street stalls. For instance they sold CHUROSU. It is a slender doughnut. Churosu is a special product of TDL and very nice!!
We enjoyed riding, eating and shopping.

In a return bus we all slept soundly... and then we awoke from a dream. Here is Yamanashi....

It is getting colder and colder in Japan. I can't live without a heating and "kotatsu".

Do you know "kotatsu"？ I put this picture on my post. It is very warm, and I often sleep in it. "Kotatsu" is Japanese traditional heater！ Futon put on the table, and we put on a desk on futon.

I like better summer than winter, but there are many pleasure in winter, too.

I want to master snowboarding this winter.

I have gone ski some times in the past, but I never done snowboarding. So I really want to challenge it.

This Christmas I’ll do part-time job at lunch time in restaurant. In fact I want to go on an outing with my boyfriend. But he has a club activity, so we can’t go. Instead of going on an outing, we will have a dinner together. I’ll bake a cake. Maybe I'll bake my favorite chocolate-cake. I was taught the recipe of chocolate-cake by chef at part-time job. The chocolate-cake that he bakes is very delicious. I hope to do well.

Last Christmas we went to Yokohama. It is famous as a spot of beautiful night view.
I had a good time there. But that night was the worst. I couldn't sleep because I had a stomachache and nausea. Probably I ate too much. So it was bad memory.

I wish a merry Christmas this year.

My Future

I have a dream. It is to be a teacher, especially an English teacher. It is since I was in elementary school that I have had the dream. There are some reasons.

First, I like English because we can talk with more people if we can speak it. It is fun to communicate with foreigners. English helps to do that and is like a bridge between countries. In my university I learn how to teach English. It is very difficult but important. I want my students to use English and to spread their chances.
Second, I prefer being with people. It is one of the features of the job. Contacting with people is important for living our lives. I would like to help my students to improve their minds. In addition, not only they but also I will be able to keep growing together.

I know the work of teacher is very hard but moreover wonderful and challenging. Therefore I want to be a teacher in the future.

job hunting in Mainabi

Last Sunday, I went to Tokyo for the job hunting event called "Mainabi Expo (マイナビExpo)". It was held by mainabi which is the company to support our job hunting. It is a big event in mainabi's other events, and I finally made up my mind to take on the job. That day, I woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning(-_ｑ)zzz. I wore the formal suit and shoes which I don't wear it usually, we went there by bus for free.

A lot of people are in the big hall and many companies came there, they held their own exhibitions. Some introduced their companies or products, others lectured about employment tests or condition of employment in recent years. I don't have clear vision of my future. I have some dreams, but I can't be positive about my success and future. I have wanted to do a service industry before like a hotel-man. I work at the supermarket for part-time job now, I hate its customers. Because they don't know manners, kindnesses and common senses!! I am always irritated by them and I think I will be crazy with them...(+ё+;) I may not do a service industry↓↓ If so, I want to work at office ( I want to be Office Lady called "OL".) So I visited some office companies, and a few companies of service industries. They had a lot of useful speeches for us. I think it was a good experiment. I will take part in such an events next time and other company's events. I have not decided my future as yet, but I don't want to regret my job, so I will do my best!!

Job Hunting

Today, I will talking about my future！！

Now our third grade students of university are in the act job hunting.
So I went to Tokyo for attending a brief for job applicants last Sunday. A lot of companies come there, and we could hear explanation about their office's task. I was very surprised at the number of companies！！

I am interested in tourist industry the most. Some travel company come there, so I could get much information about them. And furthermore I want to get a job in tourist industry. The tourist lecture said that many Japanese young men tend not to go abroad recently. Because information technology is rapid growth in recent years, so we can see a beautiful scene in Internet, and TV program is broadcasting about foreign country. I think to see scene through media is very different from to go abroad really.

So if I worked at tour office, I would increase the number of Japanese people who traveling abroad, and I wish many foreigner to come Japan. I want them to see Japanese attractive culture. I think oversea travel is sure to be connected with more internationalization in future.

I am very anxious about job hunting now, but I will broaden my horizons to find a job which really fit me. I want to do this job hunting with pleasure！！

Last Sunday, I went to a briefing for job applicants in Tokyo.　There were many companies and people.

Because I haven’t thought to be in the future, I didn't know what to do there. But I wanted to know many kinds of occupations, I listened to as many explanations of companies as possible.

For example, computer company and education company and travel company and so on. Computer company is not agreeable for me because it is difficult. Education company and travel company seems to fun for me.

Vaguely I can see what I want to in the future. This seminar was good chance for me to think about my future. And I should do job hunting in earnest from now.

School Festival

There was a school festival for three days; October 31st through November 2nd.
The first day the costume parade was held. We dressed up as something along theme decided by each group. This year our theme was Disney Character!! We disguised Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the others.What do you think I became? I became Winnie The Pooh!! I like him very much so I was happy.

The second day we open a street stall. We sold "Baby Kasutera". It is like a sponge cake. We put chocolate, caramel and bean paste in the cake. It is very delicious!! Many people came to our store and bought it. We enjoyed making Baby Kasutera and selling it.

School festival gave us a lot of things, for example importance of help, pleasure, cooperation with my friends and so on. We had a precious time for this two days.

LOVE Kyudo★＾゜

Last saturday, I retired from kyudo club. Because it is traditional to retire in November when we are in a third grade. I have done kyudo for about 6 years, and I want to continue it but, for the present, I will get down to doing job hunting...(>_<) When we retire from our kyudo club, we hold a match that right club members and seniors take part in. I couldn't win this time, but it is a reassuring thing that may juniors defeat for us.
This is our classic event, we are tossed in to the air by our juniors. In this year, members who retired are only three. I'm an only girl, but I'm a fat (・ё・), so I pitied my juniors...↓↓
They are my seniors called OB in Japan. "OB" is an abbreviation of "old boy". You wonder that there are girls, but we say OB? To be accurate senior girls call "OG", but generally we call all seniors "OB".
They are my juniors. After I retired from this club, they have only 1 girl. I'm worry about that. She is a beginner and she can't take part in team competition. Kyudo that we do as university student is usually team sports. She is a pretty girl and kind to me, always I cheered up by her.
After my last campus match, they held drinking party for us. I like drinking, we had a wonderful time. After the party, in my boyfriend's home, we held game party! He has a variety of game machines. I enjoyed it.
I love kyudo, I love my club members. Thank you kyudo, Thank you everyone...
From now on, I will join the club as OB!!('・зｄｂ

Today I will introduce about my club activity！！

I belong to track and field club now, and there are about fifty members in my club.
This picture is my classmates. They are all third grade of Yamanashi University.
Sometimes we argue with each other, but they like sports very much, and good partner as same club members.

We had a big meeting in this spring. It took place in a national stadium in Tokyo, we called the meeting "Kanto-Inter College". Our team took part in relay race, but the meeting level was very high, so we couldn't advance to the final. But thanks to the meeting, we had a good experience.

Today, I will introduce Fujinomiya autumn festival. It takes place in November 3th, 4th, 5th every year. I went there only first day. The second day is main of this festival. Regrettably, I have class in Yamanashi, so I couldn't go.

This festival is very big. People in many communities who worshipped at Sengen shrine got together and shared their happiness and thankfulness for rich harvest by playing music called"ohayashi" (お囃子), pulling around floats called"dashi"(山車), and dancing. So, You can see as many as 20 floats pulled around the streets.
This picture is dashi which my community has. My community name is "Kantate"(神立). Generally we play "ohayashi" with drums and gones and flutes on"dashi".

Then if we meet another dashi on the street, we compete with "ohayashi" to decide which one's rhythm is better. The competition is called "seriai"(競り合い). This picture display the situation of "seriai". The streets are very narrow and two floats couldn't pass. So winner could pass.

There are many boothes in Sengen shrine. I ate takoyaki and crepe and frankfurt and so on. I ate too much. And I had a good time. I'm looking forward to taking part in next festival.

From Minami Alps （・∀・）ﾉｼ♪

Hello☆゜ Today, I am going to talk about my hometown "Minami Alps" city (南アルプス市). It is next and next to Kofu city (Yamanashi University is there). It is interesting name, isn't it?It is only one city that is named with katakana in Japan. About three years ago, my town merged with six towns, so it is a fresh and large. But, here is country (very very country). Here is no station, big buildings, big department stores and movie theater. Aw... Can you believe them? It's funny, isn't it? But I like here. Of course I think that it's so inconvenient ( if we don't have own car, we can't live!), but our lives are tranquil.

My friends said before, so as you know, there is Mt. Fuji(富士山) in Yamanashi, but to be accurate, Mt.Fuji is on border between Yamanashi Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture. But people who live in both prefectures think that it is ours each other. I live in Yamanashi and my boyfriend's hometown is Shizuoka. So we often quarrel about it（・∀・) People in Yamanashi think Shizuoka is an opponent! (But, in fact, Shizuoka is bigger than Yamanashi. So we don't want to lose them no more.) We think that people can look Mt.Fuji in Yamanashi more beautiful than in Shizuoka. I believe it. But my boyfriend often say, "From Yamanashi, we can't look its foot." Because there are 5 lakes( fujigoko 富士五湖) and large wood land (青木ヶ原樹海)!! These are famous sightseeing place. I always think that he don't understand some good points of Mt.Fuji（・Д・）

A lot of fruits are speciality of Minami Alps city. My grandfather is a farmer. Do you know sakuranbo-gari（さくらんぼ狩り）?? It is one of sightseeing . If you visit my grandfather's farm in June or July, you can pick cherries and eat it freely for 40 minutes. Of course it isn't free charge. But I think you will enjoy and be satisfied it★ He do it with only cherry, but some farmers do with peach or grape. You can eat not only one but also many kind of cherries in his farm.

My hometown

How do you do?? This time I introduce about my hometown to you.
In my last blog, I soft touched on this topics, my hometown is Tahara city, in Aichi Prefecture. This place is a temperate climate comparatively, so my city is well-known for production of melon and cabbage. We can get a melon with a reasonable price in summer, so my mother sends it for me to Yamanashi in every year.

And if you come Tahara City, you can see an brighten chrysanthemum in the might. This growth system is called“Densho-Giku”. Too much chrysanthemum is lightened by bulb in the night at greenhouse. Thanks to this system, chrysanthemum is able to grow more earlier than normal cultivation. By these many yellow lights, a very fantastic view would spread before your eyes. I want you to come my city to see it once time.

In addition, my city’s another good point is located on near the sea. Because of located on peninsula, so we can see both the inland sea and the open sea. In the inland sea, we can enjoy swimming on summer. Recently I go to the sea when I back to hometown to see it or walk on a beach, but when I was young I would often go swimming there. Other side, in the open sea, many people are visiting there all year around, and enjoying surfing. And surprisingly, in this beach, the surfing world championship is take place every summer. But I haven’t see this meeting yet, so I want to watch it next year surely. I put on an picture of this beach on this post.

special town of yakisoba

The other day, I introduced my hometown to you. So it's Fujinomiya. It's a special town of yakisoba. It calls fujinomiya yakisoba. Do you know yakisoba? It's fried noodles with sauce. Generally, there are cabbage, carrot, beansprout, pork and so on. And the noodles are made from kneaded flour and water. Then its are steamed and boiled.

But noodles of fujinomiya yakisoba are cooled down after steaming. Then its are coated with oil. So its are tighter than general noodles. I had been in Fjinomiya for 18years. So I had not eat general yakisoba for 18years. I thought that fujinomiya yakisoba is general. When I ate so-called general yakisoba for the first time, I was surprised. Because noodles are very soft. It is delicious. But I like fujinomiya yakisoba more.

Besides, water is delicious. Because it's springwater of Mt.Fuji. Even Running water is very good.
So we don't have to buy water. It has nature and easy to live. I like my hometown very much.

In my previous blog Self Introduction, I wrote about my hometown Yamanashi. So in this blog, I will tell you about "dialect" of Yamanashi. It is difficult for me to explain and for you to understand. But I think this topic is very interesting.

Dialect of Yamanashi is called "ko-shu-ben"（甲州弁） I'm going to introduce some of them.

First, we say "TE!!"（てっ!!） when we are surprised at something or impressed. In English you say "oh" or "wow", I think. Next, Ymanashi people call a child "BOKO" Japanese call him or her "KODOMO"（子ども） But this word "BOKO" are used by only old people. We young don't say it.　Finally, Japanese usually say 'TSUKARETA"（疲れた） when they got tired. While in Yamanashi we say "ERAI"（えらい） Though some of you know that "ERAI" means distinguished or great, people of Yamanashi use both of two meanings.

Nice to meet you！My name is Kyoko Asakawa. Now I am a third grade of Yamanashi University. Yamanashi prefecture is located on left side of Tokyo. In this college, I am majoring in international culture. So I want to develop my English ability, but I am poor at using it well. And I haven't been to foreign country yet, so I intend to go somewhere as soon as possible when I have a long free time.
Then let me introduce myself briefly. My hometown is Aichi prefecture.Aichi is well-known for general of the age of wars. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Oda Nobunaga and so on. My home is located on peninsula, so I would go to the sea very often before I come to Yamanashi. I like local nature very much.
My family member is father and mother and me. Now I live in Yamanashi by myself. First years, I had a trouble with homework, but gradually I was accustomed to alone life, and now I am enjoying daily life with friends. Campus life give us a lot of pleasure, and we can do various things everyday.
And I belong to track and field club. I have continued this club since I was a pupil. My specialty is 100meter, 200meter, and 400meter. Hello. My name is Yuki Sasahara. I’m a third grade student in Yamanashi University. I belong to the department of International Culture. Now, I live in Yamanashi alone. My hometown is Fujinomiya in Shizuoka prefecture. Do you know Mt. Fuji? It’s the highest mountain in Japan. There is it. So it’s a beautiful sight of it from my home. I like my hometown very much.

Now, I play basketball in club. I have played it for long years. My teammate are all good friend. We are full of vigor. My position is forward. My role is to run. Anyway I run!! And shot. I was good at three point shot. But recently, I’m not satisfied with the shot. I have to be in practice more.
Two month later, I will have a championship. It will be my last game. I will retire. So I practice it very hard to do my best in the game. I'd like to report the good result to you.

I like eating very much. Now I do part time job in restaurant. The name of it is “pasta-ya”. So it’s special restaurant of pasta. The foods are delicious each and every. And I can get great boarding. I have lived in Yamanashi since I was born. I'm going to tell you about some good points of Yamanashi. First, there is Mt.Fuji. Do you know Mt. Fuji? It is the highest mountain in Japan. We can see very beautiful Mt.Fuji, especially on sunny day after snowing. This summer I climbed Mt.Fuji with my members of basketball club. It is worth climbing it at least once in a life. Second, Yamanashi is famous for some fruits, for example grapes, cherries, peaches, and so on. Every year I eat them a lot for free. That's nice!! Third, there are some good spas around Yamanashi. Of all others, I recommend you "Hottarakashi Onsen". It is a open-air bath so we can see a nice view soaking in it. In the early morning we can see sunrise and at night we can see a beautiful night view. Of course both of them are very good but I prefer seeing sunset to seeing a night view. That would touch you.

I went to America last year. There is a sister university of ours in Kentucky. I went there to study English for about three weeks. I made friends with American and talked with them in English. After that, I went to Los Angels and Las Vegas for sightseeing. It was a lot of fun!! This trip to America became a good experience. I want to go there again.

My name is Misaki Uchiyama. Please call me "Misaki"ヾ(*´∀｀)ﾉ. I'm a third grade student in Yamanashi University. I study International Culture and Language. Especially, I learn English. But I'm nervous now, because I'm poor at writing, listening and speaking English... English dictionary is necessary for me(*-ω人).

There are five members in my family, my father, mother,younger sister, grandmother and me. My mother is a Brazilian. But I am a Japanese. She is not related by blood with me. I like her cooks. She is good at cooking both Japanese food and Brazilian food.

I have a boyfriend. His name is Nori. We belonged to "Kyudo" club. Do you know Kyudo(弓道)? It is Japanese archery. I love it. I have done it since I was a high school student. I go to school everyday in order to only do it!!

At the last day of the year……

The last month of 2007 started!!Wow……it's 5th on December today.Too fast!!I'm really surprised about the time passing.Before this class I heard from my professor that there's a kind of pre-Christmas in Netherlands on 5th December, so the children can get presents!!Sounds really nice because there're 2 oppotunities to get PRESENTS!!!!I really envy them. If I can get something I really want, I want Nintendo DS like many children.

By the way, today's topic is "At the last day of the year……". What do you do in the U.S. or another places??In Japan, we eat "年越しそば（toshikoshisoba）"　with my family at night. It's one of the popular Japanese meals, and a kind of noodle dish. The soup of it is based on the soysauce, so it tastes really delicate and light. There are tempura, spinach,green onion and so on as a ingredient.It's really healthy dish!! However, this isn't just normal "soba"."年越しそば" has important meaning of its name. You know soba is thin and long. By eating soba at the last night of the year, we hope that our lives will continue long and healthily like soba. The special soba is more delicious than nomal one!!I want to eat it soon!!

Christmas day and New year's day

I introduce about Christmas and New year in Japan. I'm not Christian, but I celebrate Christmas. When I was elementary school student, I was looking forward to get presents from Santa Claus. I wrote 'I want to have some toys' to him, and put letter in my socks on Christmas Eve day (24th of December). I ate fried chicken and cake. My home hasn't chimney, so, I opened windows in my room. Then I slept. I woke up next day, There is present near bed. I believed Santa Claus came my home.
We studied about Christmas in school. We listened some Christmas songs and wrote Christmas Cards. When I was high school student, I wrote letter to Santa Claus in English. I asked him 'Can you swim?' He said 'I can't.' He sent from Canada.
I think New year is more important than Christmas day in Japan. We don't send Christmas Cards to friends, but we send New year's cards to them. We cook 'OSECHI RYORI' for new year's day. But I don't like it. We say 'あけましておめでとうございます' (It means Happiness to you on the dawn of a New Year) But if your relative (for example your grandfather) died last year, you can't say 'あけましておめでとうございます' Because you are 喪中(もちゅう　be in mourning) If your friends are MOCHU, you can't also say it to friends. We can't send New year's card to MOCHU's people. If you're student, you may get お年玉(pocket money) from your relative. This is new year's present. If you're not student and you have children, nephew or niece, you have to give some money to them.

New Years Day in Japan☆

How do you spend New Years Day? I will introduce you how to spend New Years Day in Japan.

We prepare to come to New Year since late December. On December 30th, people make Kagami-Mochi (鏡餅）. It is a rice cake with 3 layers. We put it at Tokonoma (床の間 It is a part of room, alcove. People believe that there is a God.） On December 31th, Oshogatsu kazari （お正月飾り） is decorated at front door. Our grandfathers make it by straw hoping for a good crop. In the night, We eat Toshikoshisoba (年越しそば）. At 12:00 pm, people who live near temple, can hear Jyoyanokane (除夜の鐘）. Buddhist priest tolls the bell 108 times. It is said that 108 means humans worldly desires or sufferings by Buddhism.

On January 1st, we eat Osechiryori （おせち料理） which is made by our mothers. It contains many kinds of dishes. Several dishes have several wishes. For example, Kazunoko, egg of herring, symbolizes a wish to be gifted with children. Children can get Otoshidama （お年玉）, money gift, from their parents and grandparents.

On January 2nd, we go to a shrine with our family. We make a wish to Gods. Someone draw Omikuji (おみくじ）. It is a lot written fortune of many subjects. For example, health, love, study, marriage, and so on. There are some ranks of lot, 大吉(excellent luck）, 中吉（second luck）...., 凶（the worth). If you draw 大吉, you should take out as a charm. If you draw others, you would be better to tie it in rope or branch which is near box of lot. (image source)

When I went to U.K. in this summer vacation, I was surprised that some people didn't know their blood groups. I have never met Japanese who don't know their blood groups. In Japan, It isn't too much to say that blood types is a part of person's character. For example, most Japanese will agree the idea that "A" blood type person is fussy but punctual, "B" blood type person is egoistic but has a strong will, "O" blood type person is optimistic, broad-minded but wishy-washy and "AB" blood type person has a double character and individual idea. I know we can't say that same blood type people have the same characters because each person has individual speciality. But it is also true that there are researchers who study seriously about relationship between characters and blood types. I have watched the TV program which tested kindergartners behaviors dividing into blood types. We could see characteristic behaviors of each blood type. I know there are people who will say our behaviors don't make these characters but stereotypes might influence with our behaviors. But, I still partly believe these stereotypes.
We sometimes use these characters when we excused our errors. For example, if I leave a decision to someone and they complain about my ambiguity, I can say my this fault can be attributed to O blood type as a joke.

Saint Valentine's Day in Japan

Japan has introduced many cultures and events from foreign countries and made them peculiar to Japan. One of them is Saint Valentine's Day. It is common that couples, families, and friends give presents each other all over the world, but in Japan, it is not the same. On Saint Valentine's Day, only women give chocolate or some presents fore men whom women have some crushes or love each other. In addition, it is common to exchange chocolates or some sweets between female friends. In a word, men never give presents for women or friends in Japanese Saint Valentine's Day.
It was introduced Saint Valentine's Day since 1958 or so. I heard that Morinaga which is one of the sweets and snack company introduced this day to Japan to spread chocolates. According to Morinaga, most Japanese give chocolate for lovers or friends. Some women give them for a lot of friends as a "giri choco(義理チョコ)", which means the present which is given for the person whom she doesn't love but likes as a good friend. When I was a junior high and high school student, I gave chocolates that I made for more than 20 friends including both boys and girls. On the other hand, we call "honmei choco(本命チョコ) when she gives it for the man who she's really after. Unfortunately, I have never given anyone 本命チョコ.....((;_;))
By the way, do you know White Day? I heard that there is no Day like White Day in America. White Day is on March 14th which men and wemen who get presents on Saint Valentine's Day return them with swets or presents. In a word, There are no chance for men to attack to wemen whom they like.
I think we should change the system of Valentine's Day to like that of America. I get a little bored of giving men on ahead and get some sweets or something from them in return. I wish I received a present from a man on ahead and give him something in return.

Rice cake (ｌｌｌｌｌｌ´～｀ｌｌｌｌｌｌ）モグモグ

At the end of year, my family usually makes rice cake and gives a rice cake called kagami-mochi(鏡餅). It is a traditional New Year's decorations to ancestors as a gift. And we place it on kamidana(神棚) which is a type of miniature shrine. My family also puts it on tokonoma(床の間) which is a small decorated alcove in the main room of the home around Dec. 28. This is because "8" is a tranditional number in Japan. After some weeks, we break and eat kagami-mochi. This event is called kagami-biraki(鏡開き). The picture is kagami-mochi.

In Japan, almost all Japanese people eat rice cake(もち) in the New Year. We have various kind of way to eat. For example, oshiruko(お汁粉) is a dish which is some rice cakes into sweet adzuki beans(小豆) soup. Ozouni(お雑煮) contains rice cakes in the Japanese taste soup. Ankoromochi(あんころもち) is covered azuki beans. Isobeyaki(磯辺焼き) is a baked rice cake rolled laver(海苔). We enjoy eating as we like and I really love oshiruko. If you come to Japan, please try them.

Japanese eating manners☆

There are many differences between Japanese culture and American culture. One of them is food culture. I think food culture has close relations to our daily life. Japanese have traditional customs peculiar to Japan in eating. You would not know about it so much. So I will tell you our food habits.

As you know, we eat meals with "chopsticks". It is a typical Japanese custom. But do you know how to use chopsticks? Have you ever used them? When I was child, I used to be said about how to use chopsticks by my parents that we grip one chopstick as we grip pencils when we use chopsticks. Next, we put another chopstick into the circle with the thumb and forefinger. And we put it between the second finger and ring finger. Then there are some bad manners with using chopsticks. They are called "Kiraibashi（嫌い箸）". For example, we must not stick chopsticks in rice or foods. It is called Sashibashi(さし箸) in Japanese. We stand chopsticks up a rice offering when we put it on Buddhist altar. Therefore it is not good manner for Japanese. And we must not pass foods from chopsticks to chopsticks. This manner is called Hashiwatashi（箸渡し） in Japanese. Survivors pick up bones of dead people and pass them with chopsticks. So we had better not do so. Besides it is common rule in Japan to raise rice bowls or other dishes when we eat something. And it is important for workers to pour alcoholic drink for seniors at the drinking party. There are many many strict rules at meals in Japan !!

So Japanese have to be careful during meals. But recently there are many people who can't use chopsticks well or don't know such eating manners. I think recent parents don't teach them to their children. Anyway I feel envious of American dinners because you have them happily talking with your family. In Japan (only in my home?) many families have dinner watching TV !! So there are not much conversation. (つω-`*)

Cherry blossom viewing party

Many Japanese go see cherry blossoms in the spring. We call that Hanami. Hana means any kind of flowers, but it refer to only cherry blossoms when we say about Hanami.

We can enjoy it from the late of March through the beginning of May. In this season, weather forecast say about cherry blossom front on TV.

Some people just walk around under cherry blossoms in the park or on the streets, others hold a party with friends, co-workers, or family. Currently, we enjoy not only viewing them but also eating and drinking. As for me, I went cherry blossoms viewing with my family in May. We ate fried noodles and grilled chickens, and also drink beer and sake. It seems like a picnic when we go see cherry blossoms at daytime, but it is also held at night. People enjoy it under the illuminated them.

I think blooming cherry blossoms makes Japanese realize coming spring so people go see cherry blossoms every year.

Time flies when I'm having fun =(/*^▽)/

　I have 20 classes in a week (4 classes in a day on average). 1st period starts 8:45am. 6 st period finishes 19:45pm. I have 6st periods every weekday except Thursday. Around 8:00pm, it is so cold because it is winter now. When I go back to my house after a 6st period by motorbike, I froze to death... Friday is a hardest day for me because I have 6 classes from 1st period to 6st period. Most of classes are English classes. I have at least one English class every day. I like English very much, so I enjoy these classes. On Friday, I take 2 classes of other university. Yamanashi University ties up with some other universities in Yamanashi. We can register some particular lessons in those universities for free. And we can get a grade if we pass a exam. This system isn't so familiar among students . I think this system is very interesting. Because of joining classes in other university, I can experience atmosphere of other university. Furthermore, I can make friends with other university's students. I take classes more than average. So, I sometimes feel tired, but I often enjoy my school life. My favorite phrase is " Time flies when you're having fun!" I feel passing through a week is very fast. It means I have a fruitful life!!

Most of the weekends, you know, I work part-time as a waitress. Sometimes I go out for dinner with my family. My father and my older sister have a full-time job. So，they come back home late. My younger sister also busy because of her club activities. She is keen on basketball now. She practices basketball as one of members of her basketball team in her junior high school. Even though we live together, there are less chances to gather all members in weekdays. On the other hand, in weekend, it is easier to fit our schedules. We enjoy weekend's dinner together( ^^)八(^^*)

Anytime I am in my house, I listen the music or watch TV.
So I introduce my favorite singer, "Chara", and my favorite drama series, "働きマン".

Firstly, Chara is singer-songwriter. Now she released new single. The title is "bokunokotowositte".
Any her song's PV is so cute and artistic and why I like her is because of her whisper voice. Surprisingly, she is 38- year-old now and has two kids. I wish I could be cute mother like her.

Next is about Japanese drama. I like　働きマン（hataraki man) now.Heroine is hardiest-working woman at magazine company and story goes her growth as a person. Every week I am checking it regularly. I like her character very much. The original is manga. I never read it , but I'd like to read it !!!

I will tell you about "my daily life". I live in Yamanashi by myself. I have a club activity and two part time jobs. There is both busy days and free days in my daily life. I think my daily life in Japan is different from one in America. So I introduce my daily life in Yamanashi.

I have sixteen classes at the second semester in a week. A period is ninety minutes long in our university. I have at most four classes in a day. I am especially busy on Tuesday and Wednesday. I must go to school by 8:45 AM on Tuesday because I have one period only on Tuesday. It is very very cold in this season, so I sometimes can't get up early and go to school(^_^;). The second period finishes at 12:00 AM. The lunch time is from 0:00 PM to 1:00 PM (only one hour!!). I heard that you could have long lunch time in America. We usually buy box lunches at a convinience store or have lunch at a school canteen. And I attend third and fourth periods. The fourth period finishes at 4:15 PM. I go to a ground for the club activity after fourth period. The club activity is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Then I usually go home about 10:00 PM after eating out with my club members. I usually go home about 10:00 PM on the day of the club activity. I can't do my homework and preparation for tomorrow's lessons on the days of the club activity. Then I have six period on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the second semester. The six period is from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM!! Do you have any classes after 6:00 PM? So I can't have part- time jobs on weekdays. Then after the six period, I go home and cook my dinner by myself. I often try to cook because I think now is good time to improve my cooking skill.

Although I have some classes in the university, I also have free time more than in high school. But many students have club activities or part-time jobs in their free time. I think Japanase students are too busy.(>_<) I don't know what the daily lives of American college students are like. So I want to know about your daily life in the university. Please tell me about this!!

SEIJIN-SHIKI(成人式)

This year, I became 20 years old and I attend the ceremony, "seijin-shiki". "Seijin-shiki" is one of the large Japanese events every year. This is to celebrate the people who become 20 years old. In Japan, 20 years old is important age because it is time to change the treatment as a man from a child. After 20, we can act as we like much more freely than under 20, however, we have to be responsible to everything. In Japan, we can drink alcohols and smoke legally after 20. In "seijin-shiki" most women wear kimono and men wear hakama or suit. Kimono and Hakama is Japanese traditional clothes. I'm going to wear a green kimono with a flowers pattern. I'm looking forward to wear it.
After "seijin-shiki" we have junior high school's, high school's and elementary school's alumni association. After graduating from each school, I hardly met each school's friends. I can't wait to see them!!

My favorite musicians is Avril Lavigne. She is from Canada.

This movie was shown on a Japanese news program "Mezamashi (めざまし) TV" which is a live broadcast in the morning. She is so popular that news reported her to come to Japan.

I have known her on other music program. When I watched her for the first time, I immediately became a her fan. She is so cute and fashionable. It is unbelievable for me that she is 23 years old! Because she seems to be younger than I expected. She has already married. Her voice impressed in my mind straight. After listening her song, I found her CD. When I was a high school student, I have played "Sk8er boi", her debut song, in rock band.
In addition, she writes lyrics of her own song. I'm often encouraged by her words. She almost sings love song. I respect her strong will.
As the program says, she is active in many countries. "Girl friend", the most recent her song, is sung a part of this song in Japanese, Spanish, French, German, and so on. I expect her to sing a song in all Japanese someday.

Listening foreign music is good for studying. It is interesting to find differences between ordinal lyrics and Japanese translation! Don't you think so?

My family

I will introduce my family. There are four people in my family, my father, my mother, my younger brother, and me. They live in Iwate prefecture where place north of Japan. So we are living separate now.

My father is 58 years old, and office worker. He works hard for us, so I appreciate him. He will retire his company when he come to 60 years old, because of age-limit. He is a little stubborn and selfish, but recently he becomes to fill up. I think that due to his advancing years...(^^;) My mother is 56 years old, and home maker. She and I have many similalities...for example, looking, voice, and easygoing character. I take after my mother in every way! My younger brother is 17 years old, and high school student. He belong to foot ball club, and plays as a defender. His character is similer to my father. He is a little selfish, so sometimes we have a quarral. But usually we get along well(^^)

When I go back to my home, they welcome my home. Then I feel happy and having nice family.

Izakaya

I had a part time job as waiter in an Izakaya. Izakaya is Japanese style bar. You can eat a lot of foods and alcohol drink. For example Sashimi, Sushi, Pizza, Spaghetti, noodles, fried rice, fresh vegetables, Yakiatori, Beer, Wine, Sake (Japanese alcohol), Sour and juice. I worked here for a year. I could get money an hourly wage of 980-1500yen. My shop opens from 5:oo pm to 5:00 am. Sometimes I had to work 11hours. It was very hard.
My favorite food is Yakiudon(焼きうどん). It’s kind of fried noodles. A recipe for Yakiudon, some vegetables fry, then put Udon(it’s already boiled) and special sauce. It’s ready. Do you think it’s easy? But it’s delicious!! My favorite drink is Namasibori kiwi sour(生絞りキウイサワー). It looks like kiwi juice.
You have to be careful about ‘Otoshi(お通し)’ when you go to Izakaya. Otoshi is a small dish. Why do you get Otoshi? It means ‘please wait till cooking comes.’ But Otoshi isn’t free. It cost is 300-600yen. It’s expensive. If you don’t need Otoshi, you should tell staff. Some Izakaya is OK, but some Izakaya isn’t OK. I have had two kinds of part time-job.

Previously, I worked at a jeans shop as a shop staff. Shop staff have a lot of working. To sell jeans, I memorized about them. For example, shape, material, maker, size, price, and so on. According to customers, I found the best jeans for them. It was very difficult. But I learned how to provide services for several people. In addition, the shop dealt with not only jeans, but also casual clothes. How beautiful we display clothes on counters influences gross sales. I had to fold clothes quickly and clearly. Sometimes, customers asked me to show them a nice coordinate with jeans which they bought. It was like a test of my fashion sense! I enjoyed that feeling like playing dress-up doll. When the customer who wear clothing that I had chosen came to the shop. I can't forget the happiness.

Now, I work at a Western restaurant as a waitress at a station building. I fell different difficulties from working at jeans shop. This photo is "Hamburg steak set". I have to provide service for all customers. Sometimes I am confused serving some dishes for customers who sit different table at a time.
