My hometown

My hometown is Uonuma city in Niigata Prefecture. Now, I live in Yamanashi Prefecture. It takes about seven and a half hours to get to Yamanashi from Niigata by train. I return to my home town about only three times in a year because it is too much trouble to return to there.

Uonuma is well-known for rice and sake. Koshihikari of Uonuma product is the brand-name rice which is the most famous in Japan. Many people of my town have one's rice field. Of course my parents' house makes rice, too.

And there are some beautiful mountains and rivers in my town. We can take many kinds of edible wild plants and fishes in there. Those are very delicious. And there are a lot of park and open spaces where nature is rich in my town. In my childhood, I played many sports or exercises with my friends in there. For,example, baseball, soccer, hide-and-seek and tag. it was too fun. My town is safe and stillness so there is good place to live. Please come to my town by all means if you like rice and sake and nature!!

Hey Takefumi!

Hey is it hard to grow rice? Have you ever done it? I really like towns in the mountains, and like to spend time in the mountains for skiing in the winter, and hiking in the summer. Just to let you know, the plural of "fish" is "fish, you do not need to add "es" to "fish" to make it plural. Maybe I'll go to your town someday, I like rice and sake! =D

Take care,
John

Hi Takefumi!

My name is Sarah Feehan.

Do you ever plan on living in your hometown after college or do you want to live in other places? I would like to visit your hometown someday because, like John, I like the mountain scenery.

Hallo!! John.

It is really hard to grow rice. I helped my parents in growing rice when I was a childhood. In our district, we plant rice in the middle of June. And we reap rice in September. it is worth while growing crops by ourself. We also grow some vegetables and fruits in our field. It is very delicious!!

Hi Sara!!

I love my hometown. But it is hard to find good jobs in there because our town is lural area. So I will live in the Tokyo metropolitan area after college. Many friends live in there and Tokyo is very fantastic. But I think that I can't bear the crowded train of the every morning. I am depressed when I think about it.
