Hello, my name is Takefumi Komagata. I am a sophomore of Yamanashi University. My major is International Culture. I like English very much. So I want to go to study abroad at the age of a university student.
I’m from Koide in Uonuma city, Niigata Prefecture. It’s located in the middle of Niigata. It’s famous for rice and sake. Koide is rural area, but there is a lot of nature and fresh air and you can enjoy hiking and jogging in my town. In winter, a lot of snows fall in my town. So we can enjoy many winter sports. I am looking forward to be winter very much now!!
My hobbies are playing the guitar and listening to music. I belong to ‘free music’ club in Yamanashi University. I practice with my friends one or two times in a week. It is too fun. And I listen to various kinds of music. Especially, I like foreign music. I like not only rock but also blues and jazz, dance music…and so on. Sometimes I also go to the concert. I went to ‘Summer Sonic 09’ this summer. Do you know this event? It is the rock Festival which more than 100 groups participate in. I had a pleasant time in there. If there are some recommended band and artist, please tell me.

Your hometown seems very interesting and quaint. I would like to visit it someday whenever I have free time. I was in Tokyo during the summer of 2008 and it was absolutely amazing! I wish to return to Japan sometime in the near future.
It is really cool that you can play the guitar. I can play the drums. Although, I have not played in a while so my technique is lacking. I almost went to the Summer Sonic festival in 2008 while I was in Tokyo, however, I had no money. It was rather sad.
What kind of English music do you listen to? I listen to almost everything. Let me know what you like and I can recommend something.
Your English is very good. Keep it up! There were a few small errors such as "a lot of snows fall in my town" and Instead of that, I recommend "it snows a lot in my hometown". Other than that, it's very good.

Where do you want to study abroad? There are a lot of countries that speak English. One of my friends from Japan is in a university in Canada. She really likes it there. I like playing the guitar too! I used to be in a band, but now I am not. I am recording music on my own. What id your favorite band? I like Nirvana. I have heard about Summer Sonic, but I have never gone to that event. I don't know what type of music you like, but I recommend the Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, Evanesence, the White Stripes, and No Doubt. I can recommend more bands, but there are so many!

I love Tokyo. I sometimes go to there in order to meet my friends and go shopping. There are a lot of pleasant places and clothing shops in Tokyo. I also went to the Summer Sonic festival in 2008 too! I enjoyed listening to Justice,Spiritualized,Coldplay. I think Justice was the best performance at the time. Mainly, I listen to UK and US rock. Recently, I am interested in Jazz. So I want to know about Jazz more and more.

Thank you for your comment. I want to visit England. I’m interested in culture and foods and historical buildings of England. And I love UK bands. So I want to visit many famous places like Abbey Road. It’s really cool that you can play the guitar and record songs by yourself. I practice the guitar every day. Playing the guitar is difficult but it is so exciting. I like all of your recommend bands. I especially like Nirvana in them. The voice and the guitar sound of Kurt Cobain is great. My favorite band is Radiohead. I went to their concert in Japan last year. That was awesome. Recently, I often listen to Sonic Youth, Jimi Hendrix, Mogwai, Sigur Ros. I recommend them.

You should go to England! I studied in London for one semester, and it was so much fun! If you go I can suggest some places to visit. I'm glad you like Nirvana too, Kurt Cobain's voice and guitar rifts are wicked sick (really awesome)! I know Radiohead; my stepdad really likes them. I think they are a good band. Sonic Youth and Jimi Hendrix are also good. I am not familiar with mogwai or Sigur Ros. I will look into them! Recently I have been listening to The Deadweather, System of a Down, and Splender. Also, what type of music do you like to play?
