My favorite song

My favorite song is 世界で一番頑張っている君にby HARCO. This is love song. Singer is husband and he is singing about his wife. I like the words of this song and his voice. Some commercial message use HARCO’s song. This you tube is commercial message for ALTO (it’s car).

Time flies when I'm having fun =(/*^▽)/

I have 20 classes in a week (4 classes in a day on average). 1st period starts 8:45am. 6 st period finishes 19:45pm. I have 6st periods every weekday except Thursday. Around 8:00pm, it is so cold because it is winter now. When I go back to my house after a 6st period by motorbike, I froze to death... Friday is a hardest day for me because I have 6 classes from 1st period to 6st period. Most of classes are English classes. I have at least one English class every day. I like English very much, so I enjoy these classes. On Friday, I take 2 classes of other university. Yamanashi University ties up with some other universities in Yamanashi. We can register some particular lessons in those universities for free. And we can get a grade if we pass a exam. This system isn't so familiar among students . I think this system is very interesting. Because of joining classes in other university, I can experience atmosphere of other university. Furthermore, I can make friends with other university's students. I take classes more than average. So, I sometimes feel tired, but I often enjoy my school life. My favorite phrase is " Time flies when you're having fun!" I feel passing through a week is very fast. It means I have a fruitful life!!

Most of the weekends, you know, I work part-time as a waitress. Sometimes I go out for dinner with my family. My father and my older sister have a full-time job. So,they come back home late. My younger sister also busy because of her club activities. She is keen on basketball now. She practices basketball as one of members of her basketball team in her junior high school. Even though we live together, there are less chances to gather all members in weekdays. On the other hand, in weekend, it is easier to fit our schedules. We enjoy weekend's dinner together( ^^)八(^^*)

LOVE MUSIC & DRAMA

Anytime I am in my house, I listen the music or watch TV.
So I introduce my favorite singer, "Chara", and my favorite drama series, "働きマン".

Firstly, Chara is singer-songwriter. Now she released new single. The title is "bokunokotowositte".
Any her song's PV is so cute and artistic and why I like her is because of her whisper voice. Surprisingly, she is 38- year-old now and has two kids. I wish I could be cute mother like her.
Here is new single PV.

Next is about Japanese drama. I like 働きマン(hataraki man) now.Heroine is hardiest-working woman at magazine company and story goes her growth as a person. Every week I am checking it regularly. I like her character very much. The original is manga. I never read it , but I'd like to read it !!!
The picture is original book.

My happy life☆

I will tell you about "my daily life". I live in Yamanashi by myself. I have a club activity and two part time jobs. There is both busy days and free days in my daily life. I think my daily life in Japan is different from one in America. So I introduce my daily life in Yamanashi.

I have sixteen classes at the second semester in a week. A period is ninety minutes long in our university. I have at most four classes in a day. I am especially busy on Tuesday and Wednesday. I must go to school by 8:45 AM on Tuesday because I have one period only on Tuesday. It is very very cold in this season, so I sometimes can't get up early and go to school(^_^;). The second period finishes at 12:00 AM. The lunch time is from 0:00 PM to 1:00 PM (only one hour!!). I heard that you could have long lunch time in America. We usually buy box lunches at a convinience store or have lunch at a school canteen. And I attend third and fourth periods. The fourth period finishes at 4:15 PM. I go to a ground for the club activity after fourth period. The club activity is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Then I usually go home about 10:00 PM after eating out with my club members. I usually go home about 10:00 PM on the day of the club activity. I can't do my homework and preparation for tomorrow's lessons on the days of the club activity. Then I have six period on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the second semester. The six period is from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM!! Do you have any classes after 6:00 PM? So I can't have part- time jobs on weekdays. Then after the six period, I go home and cook my dinner by myself. I often try to cook because I think now is good time to improve my cooking skill.

Although I have some classes in the university, I also have free time more than in high school. But many students have club activities or part-time jobs in their free time. I think Japanase students are too busy.(>_<) I don't know what the daily lives of American college students are like. So I want to know about your daily life in the university. Please tell me about this!!

SEIJIN-SHIKI(成人式)

This year, I became 20 years old and I attend the ceremony, "seijin-shiki". "Seijin-shiki" is one of the large Japanese events every year. This is to celebrate the people who become 20 years old. In Japan, 20 years old is important age because it is time to change the treatment as a man from a child. After 20, we can act as we like much more freely than under 20, however, we have to be responsible to everything. In Japan, we can drink alcohols and smoke legally after 20. In "seijin-shiki" most women wear kimono and men wear hakama or suit. Kimono and Hakama is Japanese traditional clothes. I'm going to wear a green kimono with a flowers pattern. I'm looking forward to wear it.
After "seijin-shiki" we have junior high school's, high school's and elementary school's alumni association. After graduating from each school, I hardly met each school's friends. I can't wait to see them!!

My favorite musician♪

My favorite musicians is Avril Lavigne. She is from Canada.

This movie was shown on a Japanese news program "Mezamashi (めざまし) TV" which is a live broadcast in the morning. She is so popular that news reported her to come to Japan.

I have known her on other music program. When I watched her for the first time, I immediately became a her fan. She is so cute and fashionable. It is unbelievable for me that she is 23 years old! Because she seems to be younger than I expected. She has already married. Her voice impressed in my mind straight. After listening her song, I found her CD. When I was a high school student, I have played "Sk8er boi", her debut song, in rock band.
In addition, she writes lyrics of her own song. I'm often encouraged by her words. She almost sings love song. I respect her strong will.
As the program says, she is active in many countries. "Girl friend", the most recent her song, is sung a part of this song in Japanese, Spanish, French, German, and so on. I expect her to sing a song in all Japanese someday.

Listening foreign music is good for studying. It is interesting to find differences between ordinal lyrics and Japanese translation! Don't you think so?

My family

I will introduce my family. There are four people in my family, my father, my mother, my younger brother, and me. They live in Iwate prefecture where place north of Japan. So we are living separate now.

My father is 58 years old, and office worker. He works hard for us, so I appreciate him. He will retire his company when he come to 60 years old, because of age-limit. He is a little stubborn and selfish, but recently he becomes to fill up. I think that due to his advancing years...(^^;) My mother is 56 years old, and home maker. She and I have many similalities...for example, looking, voice, and easygoing character. I take after my mother in every way! My younger brother is 17 years old, and high school student. He belong to foot ball club, and plays as a defender. His character is similer to my father. He is a little selfish, so sometimes we have a quarral. But usually we get along well(^^)

When I go back to my home, they welcome my home. Then I feel happy and having nice family.

Izakaya

I had a part time job as waiter in an Izakaya. Izakaya is Japanese style bar. You can eat a lot of foods and alcohol drink. For example Sashimi, Sushi, Pizza, Spaghetti, noodles, fried rice, fresh vegetables, Yakiatori, Beer, Wine, Sake (Japanese alcohol), Sour and juice. I worked here for a year. I could get money an hourly wage of 980-1500yen. My shop opens from 5:oo pm to 5:00 am. Sometimes I had to work 11hours. It was very hard.
My favorite food is Yakiudon(焼きうどん). It’s kind of fried noodles. A recipe for Yakiudon, some vegetables fry, then put Udon(it’s already boiled) and special sauce. It’s ready. Do you think it’s easy? But it’s delicious!! My favorite drink is Namasibori kiwi sour(生絞りキウイサワー). It looks like kiwi juice.
You have to be careful about ‘Otoshi(お通し)’ when you go to Izakaya. Otoshi is a small dish. Why do you get Otoshi? It means ‘please wait till cooking comes.’ But Otoshi isn’t free. It cost is 300-600yen. It’s expensive. If you don’t need Otoshi, you should tell staff. Some Izakaya is OK, but some Izakaya isn’t OK. Enjoy your time in Izakaya when you come to Japan. It’s Izakaya’s homepage. You can see menu.

My other face (^_^*)

I have had two kinds of part time-job.

Previously, I worked at a jeans shop as a shop staff. Shop staff have a lot of working. To sell jeans, I memorized about them. For example, shape, material, maker, size, price, and so on. According to customers, I found the best jeans for them. It was very difficult. But I learned how to provide services for several people. In addition, the shop dealt with not only jeans, but also casual clothes. How beautiful we display clothes on counters influences gross sales. I had to fold clothes quickly and clearly. Sometimes, customers asked me to show them a nice coordinate with jeans which they bought. It was like a test of my fashion sense! I enjoyed that feeling like playing dress-up doll. When the customer who wear clothing that I had chosen came to the shop. I can't forget the happiness.

Now, I work at a Western restaurant as a waitress at a station building. I fell different difficulties from working at jeans shop. This photo is "Hamburg steak set". I have to provide service for all customers. Sometimes I am confused serving some dishes for customers who sit different table at a time. And It is hard for me to serve appetizing dishes when I am hungry. But the happy times working at a restaurant are when customers say to me "it was so delicious!" and "GOTISOUSAMA(ごちそうさま)!" (It is said after eating something.)

What I learned by working would be effective for our future. I want to enjoy and to learn more!!

Mcdonald's

I have three part-time jobs: as a waitress at McDonald's', as a tutor, and a staff of concert.

At McDonald's', I have worked part-time for one and a half year. At first, I made a lot of mistakes, such as forgetting preparing products or condiments, I got used to it eventually and now, I am a part-time manager of McDonald's store where I work. It is hard for me to work at McDonald's' because a lot of customers come to buy foods again and again. But sometimes I feel happy that I get customers' smile. I love to eat McDonald's' in spite of knowing that it is never healthy to eat at McDonald's. Do you like McDonald's'? In Japan, we have Japanese original food, which is called "teriyaki burger". It is teriyaki sauce taste which is Japanese original sauce. It is popular for customers who are from not only Japan but also foreign country.

I am a tutor, too. I teach math and English to a senior and a sophomore of junior high school students. My students are soooo cute and a little sassy, so I enjoy teaching them with some chatting. Although I can make money for 2200 yen per hours, I have to quite this part-time job because I'm going to go to Australia to study for 10 months.

Recently, I started to work part-time as a staff of concerts. This part-time-job invites us irregularly, so I have done this part-time-job once. Then I helped music concert and saw a Japanese famous singer, Segawa Eiko, who is a popular enka singer and sometimes appears on Japanese TV. "enka" is a Japanese traditional song.

Precious experiences☆

I have two part-time jobs now. One is a temp worker, the other is a tutor. I don't have a lot of time to work because I have a six period class(from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.!!) and a club activity three times a week. I am soooo busy now.(;_;) But I have to get the cost of living. So I found two part-time jobs that have high hourly wages. I will introduce them to you.

Do you know temp workers? Temp workers don't decide one place to work. I work with people who I don't know in various places every time. I often work at some wedding ceremony halls as a waitress. I decided this part-time job because I could work part-time whenever I want to do(only once a month is OK) and the hourly wage was high!! I can earn a hourly wage of 1000 yen. But the job was harder than I expected. First, wedding receptions are so formal. So I can't make any mistakes such as spilling drink over the guests, breaking dishes, forgetting the order. People who work there are very nervous. Second, the dishes used at a wedding reception are heavy. We have to carry three big dishes at a time. I always have muscular pain the following day. However there are also happy things at the job. Wedding receptions always move me. Brides are so beautiful, and a newly married couple look happy. Every time I work at the wedding reception, want to marry soon!!(*´U`*) I put a image of two people wearing a costume of a waitress(waiter). I always wear similar clothes!! The image is by http://www.servicewear.com/item_page/ITS-AP-042.php

I have the other job as a tutor. I teach a junior high school student all subjects once a week. I can earn a hourly wage of 2000 yen!! I mainly teach English and Math because she is poor at them. When I was a junior high school student, I didn't like Math and was also poor at it. So I can understand her feeling very well!! I teach the subjects as I talk my experience. I think it's important for teaching. Then I found it was difficult to teach another person even if I understand well. So I can learn many things that I didn't know by teaching. But I teach a third grade student, that is to say she is a applicant for a high school. I am anxious whether she passes entrance examinations of high school.

Part-time jobs are hard for students. But we can find how hard it is to earn money and experience working in the society. I think the most important work for children is learning!! So we should work part-time ordinarily(^^;)

(-UωU-)♪

I work as a part-time job as a waitress in a coffee shop named Art coffee. It is one of the coffee chains in Japan. So, you can also find Art coffee in other prefectures. I have worked at this coffee shop in Kofu for about one and a half year. I like staff members and shop's atmosphere. It isn't so large and not so crowded. So, I bet you can enjoy the taste of coffee and your conversation to the full as listening to nice jazz( ~o~)♪

We change menues depend on time. In the morning, there are three types of morning sets. In the left side, there is a picture of these sets replicas. Don't you think these look so real ? These sets cost only 500yen with drink( coffee, tea or orange juice) I think these sets are reasonable. Actually, we have many patrons to eat these sets. Most of them come to our coffee shop every day. Indeed, some of them have their special menu. I remembered all these special menues. One of them is old woman. She is over 90. I think she thrives on coming to our shop and to meet staff members. I am happy to meet her too.
There is a discount prices for staff members. We can eat any kind of food on the menu for 300yen and drink for 50yen. This system is very very helpful for me. I think it is common that there are some discount prices in food shops in Japan.
Our coffee shop opens from 7:30am to 9:00pm. Sometimes, I work from 7:00. It is early, but like working the early morning except in the middle of winter, because I can feel refreshed. I work about three times in a week, especially weekend. I usually work for 8 or 9 hours per a day. I have worked from 7:00 to 9:30 one time. It means I worked for 12 and a half hours in a day.(I had one and a half hours free time.) It was very hard, but I felt a sense of achievement when I did it.
I enjoy working at this coffee shop. If there is oppotunity to come to Kofu, please drop on my coffee shop(●^□^)p”

Izakaya

I work part-time as a waitress at Izakaya. Are you familiar with Izakaya? It's Japanese-style pubs which are the most popular drinking place in Japan. I have started the job for about 2 years and I will continue the job until graduate. I serve dishes and drinks, also make coktails.

I like my job because meeting and talking with many people are enjoynable. Sometimes regular comes and then we talk about these days. making many kind of coktails are also fun.

There are also many kind of food, for example, cold tofu, green soybeans, sashimi, yakitori (grilled chicken), fried chicken, grilled fish, and so on. Though standers were Japanese food in the past, Western dishes such as pizzas are also becoming popular nowadays same reason as drinks. It means that we can choose the foods from the menu as we like.

And now I show how Japanese behave in Izakaya. First, they are served a rolled hot hand towel and otoshi which is like a small appetizer, after we have a seat or order some drink. Otoshi means that guests can wait without annoying at late serve. Generally, they have a glass of draft beer at the beginning. Second, they can choose and order a variety of snacks or dishes in the menu. They usually order twice or three times without order at the same time. Normally, they spend about 2 or 3 hours in there, and pay 3000 yen per person.

I recommend you to go izakaya if you come to Japan. You must be having a good time!

How hard English teacher is!!

Is it common for university students to do part time job in the U.S. ?? In Japan, it's very common to do it. Almost all Japanese students have some part time jobs or have done them before. Among the students, these kinds of jobs are very popular, restaurants like McDonald's, tutors, and temporary jobs just for one day like advertising something new (cell phone, food). In my case, I have two jobs. One is teaching English as a tutor, and the other is working at Starbucks coffee. Both of them are very interesting and worthwhile!! I love them.

Today, I will talk about my tutor job. I started it last September, so I've taught English to my student, who is a junior high school student, for 15 months. The occasion I got the suitable job was that my professor asked me to teach English for EIKEN(英語 検定 eigo kentei) which is one of the world's most widely administered language tests, and also popular in Japan as a official exam to his acquaintance's daughter.

Immediately, I answered "Yes!", I started to go her house to teach English for its 2nd grade test. At first, I taught mainly grammar and vocabulary to her, after that we tried some workbooks that was made an examination in the past. Her English skill dramatically improved, and in last January, she passed it! And also, I passed pre-first grade exam at the same time!! We did well, especially my student, I think. Now she is challenging to pass pre-first grade, so we are struggling with EIKEN together.

By the way, I go her house in once a week so far.But from next month, it's going to change the date into twice a week . An hourly wage of 1500yen, I teach English to her for 2~3 hours. Her house is close to my apartment, so it's easy to go. I really enjoy this part time job!!

The hard work

I worked as the part timer of the assistant for moving at the moving company that it's famous for the mark of the panda temporarily in last spring.

Sometimes I remember I still sometimes remember those days. I went to the work 4 or 5days a week. It was really hard .

A moving company began to work at 7:00.am everyday, and finish was 10:00.pm when it was late. I worked mainly within the Yamanashi prefecture, and sometimes I also worked at Hachiouji-city in Tokyo.

Moreover, my day off that it selected in advance lost suddenly because of the work sometimes....(T_T)

The main work was helping, to be concentrate, we went to the house of the person who moved with other assistant, and it carried out furniture or a refrigerator, and it was work it did them newly, and it carried it to the new address, and to post those things in the new room.
In addition, it was one of the important work to clean the room of the visitor neatly before carrying out furniture.

As for the thing to carry out, it was various from small tableware to a big closet, and I had to carry those things really carefully, so I always felt really high puressure(^^;), so the work didn't readily progress, and there was it when it was angry at a senior in the days of the beginning and lost some confidence.
But I was able to regain own little by little by having been gradually used to work.
Through this work, I could learn many important things such as a sense of responsibility with working. I think it was very good experience for me.
I don't work part-time now, but if I get a question "Do you want to work as a mover again?" from someone, I would certainly answer "no"!(^^;)

Funky gal !!!

I have a part-time job as a tutor for a high school student. When I met her for the first time, she had enjoyed her summer vacation in 2006. Then her color of hair was pink, though almost all Japanese had black hair!!! And she put on some hair extensions which was a kind of wig heir. Also, she frequented a tanning salon so she had a tanned skin; what we call "gan-guro(ガングロ)". She often said to me, "I don't like this color of skin like Thai people. I'm trying to change my nationality to BLACK PEOPLE by means of tanning!!!", uh she didn't have a will to say disagreeable things. To tell the truth, I thought "Woo, she is very funky! The young people today makes me surprised." I worried about whether I could get along with her or not because I had never connected with this type of people.

However, as time passed, we have appreciated each other gradually. She goes to the school which I have commuted in my high school days so I am a senior of her. This is because we can talk about teachers in the high school and laugh. Moreover, I have a younger brother belonging to the same school and they know each other!!! It's a miracle, isn't is?

I teach her all subjects which she studies except some skills tests. For example, Japanese, politics and economy, and also English. However, she doesn't like studying. She uses cell-phone in her school classes and doesn't take notes. So when we are in the test date, we start judging first what the examination subjects are. Well... please do not ask me how her grades are and my guidance.

Do you have any part-time job?

Wedding Ceremony in the Chapel♡

I'd like to introduce my part-time job.

I have been working at wedding chapel since I was fresh man at University. This was the first job to me. So far, I have ever worked some kind of job, but this wedding job is most attracting job and I have learned many things from there.
My task is wide-ranging. I take charge of assistant of bridal couple in the chapel.
In Japan, it is usual to celebrate in the chapel first, and then people go to reception banquet to have dinner. My affairs are limited only in the chapel. For example, I prepare the some drink, clean up the church, operate the assistants and so on before the ceremony. Actually, I think the main part of task begin when the ceremony starts. I direct the couple to the front of priest and take and give the groves during ceremony.I 'm always too nervous in this time!!

Why I like to work here is because I can see the most wonderful time in the life for people. I think the smile of bride is the most beautiful face in the world. Anytime I go to work, people who get married give me happy!! In addition to this, I like the member of worker very much.

The picture is my chapel inside.

We 感動(can do) it!

Our school festival is called Nashi-Kou-Sai(梨甲祭). This is because that Yamanashi university(山~梨~大学) is in Kofu(~甲~府) so the name comes from these two words, I think. In this year, our school festival was held in November 2nd through 4th.

The 1st day, I wore a disguise of TARAKO(cod roe) with my department fellows. One of the Japanese primary school students unit Kigurumi(キグルミ) sung a song Tarako-Tarako-Tarako and they put on the costume. It was a movement in last year. We made the costume and wore. Then we walked around in Kofu city. That's very fun!!!

The 2nd day, I sold grilled chicken on steak(焼き鳥) with my department fellows. We bought some ingredients of barbecued chicken and prepared for selling. First, we were going to sell it in two days. However, many people come to our shop and bought a lots of grilled chicken on steak so we had completely sold in the 2nd day!!!
That was one of my best memory in 2007!!

The memorial 3 days with TARAKO & YAKITORI

Do you know these Japanese food, "TARAKO & YAKITORI" ??The former means "cod roe" (tiny red eggs, we often eat them without boiling.) and the latter means "barbecued chicken". Both of them taste good, and also they are very popular among Japanese people. Especially, last year, TARAKO was trendy food because TV commercial of the cream pasta sauce of "TARAKO" was come up by the mass media as funny and cute advertisement. The reason why it was so entertaining was that two young girls were dancing with wearing TARAKO's costume and singing "the TARAKO song" .Therefore, the unique melody and dance became so popular!!

I found the TV commercial♪♪Please check it!I think it's very cute, and also we did same thing!!

Last weekend, our university held the annual festival from Nov 1 to 3. In the first day, we had a coscumey parade. And at that time……(did you notice yet??) we became "the TARAKO girls" ! Of course, there ware boys like Kakeru, but it was no problem. They wore one-piece dresses. At that day, we were wearing "TARAKO" and wallking around our area with dancing and singing for almost 4 hours!!!Everyone looked tired, but we did our best I think, so I really enjoyed our first day of the event.

Also, on the 2nd day, we opened a "YAKITORI shop". We prepared "YAKITORI" early in the morning, and sold them. At first, we guessed that the amount of "YAKITORI" was enough to do, however, they were sold out in a flash, so we were very surprised!! It resulted in supplying "YAKITORI" left for 3rd day, so we succeeded to run own shop. Of course, we ate them secretly during grilling☆

Throughout 3 days, we really cooperated with the costumey parade and running our shop, so I felt that my peers were bright. Ummmmm~~~~GREAT!!

Two school festivals

There are two school festivals in Yamanashi university. The one is a faculty of education and the other is a faculty of medical. The reason is that two colleges are in different places. I belong to a medical rugby football team as a team secretary, so I can take part in the both festivals!! The school festivals are held only once a year. So I was very looking forward to them. Then I will introduce the each two school festivals.

First I will tell you about a medical school festival. It took place on October 26th, 27th and 28th. A most characteristic thing of the medical school festival is that the students can drink!! The students continued drinking for three days. The school festival eve was heated up the most. In the morning we had a softball meeting. (Unfortunately the meeting was called off this year because of rain. So I will tell the meeting last year.) I played a catcher in the game, and we were a runner up!! We could get some beers. In the night, the members of all club activities got together and drank at a school gymnasium. There was some events such as an uniform contest, an arm wrestling meeting, a karaoke by each club members etc. And we can talk with anyone there even people who we don't know!! We can make friends in this party. On 2nd and 3rd day, there were many boothes by each clubs. My rugby club runs a pie throwing booth every year. You choose someone in my club team members and throw a pie to their face thoroughly!! You can throw a pie once only fifty yen. Of course our club can't get a lot of money, but we enjoy it very much☆(。→∀←。)

I will tell you about an educational school festival next. It took place on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The member of International Culture sold "Agetako(あげたこ)" It is like "Takoyaki(たこやき)"(Do you know Takoyaki? Takoyakis are octopus flitters. We use flour, octopuses, leeks, red pickled gingers and water. And we mix them and grill in round shape.) but the difference is that Agetako is fried. It was hard to run the booth because we must closely consider money, places, the number of goods and so on. I was very anxious whether the foods sold. But Agetako sold well for two days. Then we sold out all Agetako and we got a lot of money than we expected!! I took a photograph with my friends wearing a T-shirts of the same design with pink color.

These two school festivals had some varieties. So I could have a really good time in each of them. These several days were my precious memories!! How about the UNH school festival? Please tell me about your school festivals★

Annual events!

I took part in some activities in school festival. Especially, I introduce activities as a member of wind orchestra club.
My wind orchestra club has some annual event in our school festival.

The 1st day, freshman paraded wearing fancy costumes around this university. We walked the head of line playing the musical instruments every year. We dressed in matching yellow polo shirts made for this festival with club members. It was very hard to play walking long distance and bringing heavy musical instruments. So we were tired. But gallery seemed to be pleased our music clapping in rhythm to us.
The 2nd and 3rd day, we opened udon(うどん) store. Udon is a Japanese wheat noodle. Most of other clubs sell different foods but we sell them every year. Managing the shop by member of sophomore and freshman was based on the our club's tradition. We also wore the yellow club polo shirts. At the store, we boiled fresh noodle, made a soup stock, and put seaweed and spring onion. This recipe is really simple. But we were busy to cook and to sell them. The shop was in bad place to attract people, we delivered them on campus. Fortunately, it was little cold these days, so hot noodle sold out earlier than we expected!
Thus, our wind orchestra club spent school festival enjoying these annual events. The time flew very quickly!

☆(ノ^^)八(^^ )ノ☆

There was a school festival in Yamanashi University last weekend, from November 2nd to November 4th to be exact. This festival is held once a year in our university around the beginning of November and it is a good opportunity for us to chum with many students beyond grades.
In the first day, my juniors who belong to the same department as mine took part in a costume parade. This parade is an annual event in the festival and bout 10 groups takes part in this parade every year and contend for precedence. In my department, it is first year students' custom to participate in the parade. Actually, I joined it last year with the same grade students in my department. We made various kinds of traditional clothes in the world . I wore Chima-chogori which is a Korean traditional cloth. I used sheets to make it! This year, my juniors pretended characters of One-piece. Do you know this comic? It is one of famous comics among the young Japanese.
After the parade, I prepared sweets for the next day. In my volunteer club, we were going to open the sweets booth. So, we made sweets that day. We used about 800g of sweet potatoes. At first, we peeled all sweet potatoes. After that, we cut them in pieces. Then, steam and strained them. After adding sugar, eggs, butter etc, we kneaded them. At last, we baked them. It took about 7 hours. This is the picture of the sweet. We could make them very well but... even though what I did was only making sweets, I had muscular pain ..and I didn't want to see sweet potetoes no more for the time being....

The second day, we sold these sweets. Our sweets had a good reputation. In addition to the club, I sold octopus flitters with my department students. Octopus flitters are nommally baked and soft , but we fried them and they were crisp. It tastes yummy. InYamanashi University, there are about 200 international students. And some of them opened food boothes. For example, Malaysian sold curry noodle and chocolate cakes, and chinese studensts sold chinese meat dumplings. They were very very delicious!!

The last day, Japanese comedians and musisian came to our university. Through the festival, it wasn't jummed so much, but when they came, it was crowded. I had a good time with my friend in the last day as not a seller but a buyer. There were many food boothes, so I gave way to the temptation to eat these food... I have to try to keep ia a diet from now on...( >△)o"
We ended the festival off with a drinking party. Drinking parties after the events are common in Japan. Especially, nomi-houdai(飲み放題)is very common when we drink with "a lot of" members. Nimi-houdai means that we can drink as much as we want for about 3000yen in pubs within 2hours. But.. there are some problem if we drink in a pub in "Yamanashi". Recently, the traffic rule is becoming very strict. Even though I commute to school by motorbike everyday, I have to go back by train instead of motorbike. We can't go back by "bicycle". In Yamanashi, public facilities for travel such as train , bus are not convenient because the last train or bus is very early and they don't come frequently, once in hour or so at night. Thinking how to go back to home after a drinking party is tiresome for me. But, of course, I pretty enjoined this drinking party and talked a lot with friends.
Do you have any festival in your university? How about a drinking party in your country?

School Festival

Today I will write about univerity's festival.I went to there on Saturday and Sunday withb my freind.

On Sunday, I went to many shops include my subject class's. What won through up to a memory in particular was sampling of the wine.

Sampling of the wine was performed at investigation center in the department of technology. There are many kinds of white and red.I went there with my freinds, and I tried to drink some kinds of wine.

It was delicious, however, I got drunk soon. Because I can't drink alcahol so much. So I had to drink much water than wine(^^;)

On Sunday, I watched comedy show and band concert. It was difficult to watch those event because of the congestion, but I could enjoy those two events.

In addition, I also enjoyed watching dance performance. That was really fatastic! I thout they were proffesional. It was so wonderful that I cannot express it by words!

This school festival was the final for me,but this school festival became the most wonderful memory!(^^)

※I ate noodles a little bit much at this school festival. So I'll up the video about japanese noodles.

How about nice Sweet potato and Yakisoba?

Sweet potato and Yakisoba. Do you know these? Sweet potato the name of sweets in Japan, and it's made of sweet potato. Yakisoba is a fried noodle. We also walked around uni to try to sell these.

Anyway, I really enjoyed shool festival!(*^-^*)
Would you like to come our school festival?

Had a special time★

I enjoyed school festival last weekend!! Every year it was held three days long. The first day is costume parade for freshman, in contrast, second and last day are opened to the public.

I was involved in two club activity and both of these set up shop.

One is the shop of selling YAKISOBA. Do you know it? It is like a baking noodle with some vestibules and pork seasoned lightly-salted source. In addition to yakisoba, we were sold yakisoba sandwich and some drink. We were selling it wearing YUKATA that is traditional Japanese summer costume. Here is a picture of YUKATA.Sales were very nice and after the festival we had a big drinking party...

The other shop is selling mostly sweets of sweet potato, coffee, cocoa and tea. Our club member are interested in fare trade, so we used drinking material from fare trade goods. Also we sold for some Vietnam folk arts. It is so cute! The sales of these goods would donate NGO for Vietnam AIDS. We dressed club T-shits on to match. The T-shirts were designed by my friends and I. At first, only few people come to our shop, but as the temperature rises, many people asked for our drink and sweet potatoes!!

For two days I woke up very early morning. It was very hard for me because I would get up around 9 o'clock every day. When I put off the shop and clean up I suddenly felt loneliness.. Because I spent a good time with club members. I hope to have a nicer time with them next year's festival too!!

How awesome the school festival was!!

November 2nd, 3rd and 4th, we had a school festival. It was awesome!!! First day, freshmen wore their original costumes and walk down to the down town. 2nd and 3rd days, we enjoyed in the campus, seeing the performances which students played, buying a lot of foods which students made. I'm going to talk about 2nd and 3rd days especially.
2nd day, there were a lot of booth which each students belonging to some clubs, circles, or department classes ran. I sold "hiroshima-fu okonomiyaki(広島風お好み焼き)" which my tennis club made, sweet potato, coffee and tea which my volunteer circle made, and "agetako(揚げたこ)" which my class made. "hiroshima-fu okonomiyaki" is Japanese food which is made from flour, cabbages, eggs and meat. "agetako" is also Japanese food which is fried "takoyaki(たこ焼き)". Do you know or have you eaten them? I made the rounds of the booth. When I found my friends, I dashed to them and made them buy our products.
I also performed a band in the stage. I was a vocal and played Japanese punk songs in a band, which were "anatani(あなたに)" and "chiisanakoinouta(小さな恋のうた)" sang by MONGOL800 and "stay gold" and "dear my friend" sang by HI-STANDERED. A lot of my friends came and aroused the mood, so I enjoyed and jumped a lot. Our motto was youthfulness, it is called in Japanese "seishun(青春), so my costume was a high school uniform. We also made it a rule to wear colour tights. I wore blue tight. So it seemed a kind of a gag. This is the picture.
3rd day, we sold the foods like we did 2nd day. We also see the live of B-DASH which is the artist in Japan. It was awesome!! They sing some songs not in Japanese, English, any other languages, but in their own language. My favorite song is "CHO".

☆Fancy dress contest☆

We have 3days at School Festival. The first day is Fancy dress contest. Second and third day are Festival, some comedians and singers perform, many clubs play music and dance, and there were many booths. When I was 1st& 2nd grade, I took part in Fancy dress contest with my friends, and we were champion at this contest. When I was 1st grade, our theme was 'Alice in wonder land'. About 30 people dressed up such as Alice, soldiers of card, king, queen and rabbit. I dressed up small king. It's handmade all of them. We have to walk 4km as dress costume. Start is Yamanashi University, then Takeda St and shopping arcade. It's important to walk in shopping arcade. Because staff(working shop here) is judge of contest. We had to show our costume for them. We said 'we hope to do good business in your shop' each shops. Then we clapped our hands only one time after say 'Yo'. This perform is lucky form in Japan. We went to Kofu Station and Castle of Maizuru. We had lunch here. When we finished lunch, we ran to Yamanashi University (about1.5km). It was very hard. When I was 2nd grade, our theme was 'Disney land'.We dressed us such as Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pooh, Monster's Inc and Peter Pan.I dressed up Tinker Bell.Do you think my Tinker Bell is cute?
