School Festival

There was a school festival for three days; October 31st through November 2nd.
The first day the costume parade was held. We dressed up as something along theme decided by each group. This year our theme was Disney Character!! We disguised Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and the others. What do you think I became? I became Winnie The Pooh!! I like him very much so I was happy.

The second day we open a street stall. We sold "Baby Kasutera". It is like a sponge cake. We put chocolate, caramel and bean paste in the cake. It is very delicious!! Many people came to our store and bought it. We enjoyed making Baby Kasutera and selling it.

School festival gave us a lot of things, for example importance of help, pleasure, cooperation with my friends and so on. We had a precious time for this two days.

We 感動(can do) it!

Our school festival is called Nashi-Kou-Sai(梨甲祭). This is because that Yamanashi university(山~梨~大学) is in Kofu(~甲~府) so the name comes from these two words, I think. In this year, our school festival was held in November 2nd through 4th.

The 1st day, I wore a disguise of TARAKO(cod roe) with my department fellows. One of the Japanese primary school students unit Kigurumi(キグルミ) sung a song Tarako-Tarako-Tarako and they put on the costume. It was a movement in last year. We made the costume and wore. Then we walked around in Kofu city. That's very fun!!!

The 2nd day, I sold grilled chicken on steak(焼き鳥) with my department fellows. We bought some ingredients of barbecued chicken and prepared for selling. First, we were going to sell it in two days. However, many people come to our shop and bought a lots of grilled chicken on steak so we had completely sold in the 2nd day!!!
That was one of my best memory in 2007!!

The memorial 3 days with TARAKO & YAKITORI

Do you know these Japanese food, "TARAKO & YAKITORI" ??The former means "cod roe" (tiny red eggs, we often eat them without boiling.) and the latter means "barbecued chicken". Both of them taste good, and also they are very popular among Japanese people. Especially, last year, TARAKO was trendy food because TV commercial of the cream pasta sauce of "TARAKO" was come up by the mass media as funny and cute advertisement. The reason why it was so entertaining was that two young girls were dancing with wearing TARAKO's costume and singing "the TARAKO song" .Therefore, the unique melody and dance became so popular!!

I found the TV commercial♪♪Please check it!I think it's very cute, and also we did same thing!!

Last weekend, our university held the annual festival from Nov 1 to 3. In the first day, we had a coscumey parade. And at that time……(did you notice yet??) we became "the TARAKO girls" ! Of course, there ware boys like Kakeru, but it was no problem. They wore one-piece dresses. At that day, we were wearing "TARAKO" and wallking around our area with dancing and singing for almost 4 hours!!!Everyone looked tired, but we did our best I think, so I really enjoyed our first day of the event.

Also, on the 2nd day, we opened a "YAKITORI shop". We prepared "YAKITORI" early in the morning, and sold them. At first, we guessed that the amount of "YAKITORI" was enough to do, however, they were sold out in a flash, so we were very surprised!! It resulted in supplying "YAKITORI" left for 3rd day, so we succeeded to run own shop. Of course, we ate them secretly during grilling☆

Throughout 3 days, we really cooperated with the costumey parade and running our shop, so I felt that my peers were bright. Ummmmm~~~~GREAT!!

Two school festivals

There are two school festivals in Yamanashi university. The one is a faculty of education and the other is a faculty of medical. The reason is that two colleges are in different places. I belong to a medical rugby football team as a team secretary, so I can take part in the both festivals!! The school festivals are held only once a year. So I was very looking forward to them. Then I will introduce the each two school festivals.

First I will tell you about a medical school festival. It took place on October 26th, 27th and 28th. A most characteristic thing of the medical school festival is that the students can drink!! The students continued drinking for three days. The school festival eve was heated up the most. In the morning we had a softball meeting. (Unfortunately the meeting was called off this year because of rain. So I will tell the meeting last year.) I played a catcher in the game, and we were a runner up!! We could get some beers. In the night, the members of all club activities got together and drank at a school gymnasium. There was some events such as an uniform contest, an arm wrestling meeting, a karaoke by each club members etc. And we can talk with anyone there even people who we don't know!! We can make friends in this party. On 2nd and 3rd day, there were many boothes by each clubs. My rugby club runs a pie throwing booth every year. You choose someone in my club team members and throw a pie to their face thoroughly!! You can throw a pie once only fifty yen. Of course our club can't get a lot of money, but we enjoy it very much☆(。→∀←。)

I will tell you about an educational school festival next. It took place on November 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The member of International Culture sold "Agetako(あげたこ)" It is like "Takoyaki(たこやき)"(Do you know Takoyaki? Takoyakis are octopus flitters. We use flour, octopuses, leeks, red pickled gingers and water. And we mix them and grill in round shape.) but the difference is that Agetako is fried. It was hard to run the booth because we must closely consider money, places, the number of goods and so on. I was very anxious whether the foods sold. But Agetako sold well for two days. Then we sold out all Agetako and we got a lot of money than we expected!! I took a photograph with my friends wearing a T-shirts of the same design with pink color.

These two school festivals had some varieties. So I could have a really good time in each of them. These several days were my precious memories!! How about the UNH school festival? Please tell me about your school festivals★

Annual events!

I took part in some activities in school festival. Especially, I introduce activities as a member of wind orchestra club.
My wind orchestra club has some annual event in our school festival.

The 1st day, freshman paraded wearing fancy costumes around this university. We walked the head of line playing the musical instruments every year. We dressed in matching yellow polo shirts made for this festival with club members. It was very hard to play walking long distance and bringing heavy musical instruments. So we were tired. But gallery seemed to be pleased our music clapping in rhythm to us.
The 2nd and 3rd day, we opened udon(うどん) store. Udon is a Japanese wheat noodle. Most of other clubs sell different foods but we sell them every year. Managing the shop by member of sophomore and freshman was based on the our club's tradition. We also wore the yellow club polo shirts. At the store, we boiled fresh noodle, made a soup stock, and put seaweed and spring onion. This recipe is really simple. But we were busy to cook and to sell them. The shop was in bad place to attract people, we delivered them on campus. Fortunately, it was little cold these days, so hot noodle sold out earlier than we expected!
Thus, our wind orchestra club spent school festival enjoying these annual events. The time flew very quickly!

School Festival

Today I will write about univerity's festival.I went to there on Saturday and Sunday withb my freind.

On Sunday, I went to many shops include my subject class's. What won through up to a memory in particular was sampling of the wine.

Sampling of the wine was performed at investigation center in the department of technology. There are many kinds of white and red.I went there with my freinds, and I tried to drink some kinds of wine.

It was delicious, however, I got drunk soon. Because I can't drink alcahol so much. So I had to drink much water than wine(^^;)

On Sunday, I watched comedy show and band concert. It was difficult to watch those event because of the congestion, but I could enjoy those two events.

In addition, I also enjoyed watching dance performance. That was really fatastic! I thout they were proffesional. It was so wonderful that I cannot express it by words!

This school festival was the final for me,but this school festival became the most wonderful memory!(^^)

※I ate noodles a little bit much at this school festival. So I'll up the video about japanese noodles.

How about nice Sweet potato and Yakisoba?

On November 3 and 4, school festival was held. Usually, in my uni, there are many refreshment booth by club members or class members. I belong to two clubs, s0 I sold two kinds of light foods. Sweet potato and Yakisoba. Do you know these? Sweet potato the name of sweets in Japan, and it's made of sweet potato. Yakisoba is a fried noodle. We also walked around uni to try to sell these.

Anyway, I really enjoyed shool festival!(*^-^*)
Would you like to come our school festival?

Had a special time★

I enjoyed school festival last weekend!! Every year it was held three days long. The first day is costume parade for freshman, in contrast, second and last day are opened to the public.

I was involved in two club activity and both of these set up shop.

One is the shop of selling YAKISOBA. Do you know it? It is like a baking noodle with some vestibules and pork seasoned lightly-salted source. In addition to yakisoba, we were sold yakisoba sandwich and some drink. We were selling it wearing YUKATA that is traditional Japanese summer costume. Here is a picture of YUKATA.Sales were very nice and after the festival we had a big drinking party...

The other shop is selling mostly sweets of sweet potato, coffee, cocoa and tea. Our club member are interested in fare trade, so we used drinking material from fare trade goods. Also we sold for some Vietnam folk arts. It is so cute! The sales of these goods would donate NGO for Vietnam AIDS. We dressed club T-shits on to match. The T-shirts were designed by my friends and I. At first, only few people come to our shop, but as the temperature rises, many people asked for our drink and sweet potatoes!!

For two days I woke up very early morning. It was very hard for me because I would get up around 9 o'clock every day. When I put off the shop and clean up I suddenly felt loneliness.. Because I spent a good time with club members. I hope to have a nicer time with them next year's festival too!!

How awesome the school festival was!!

November 2nd, 3rd and 4th, we had a school festival. It was awesome!!! First day, freshmen wore their original costumes and walk down to the down town. 2nd and 3rd days, we enjoyed in the campus, seeing the performances which students played, buying a lot of foods which students made. I'm going to talk about 2nd and 3rd days especially.
2nd day, there were a lot of booth which each students belonging to some clubs, circles, or department classes ran. I sold "hiroshima-fu okonomiyaki(広島風お好み焼き)" which my tennis club made, sweet potato, coffee and tea which my volunteer circle made, and "agetako(揚げたこ)" which my class made. "hiroshima-fu okonomiyaki" is Japanese food which is made from flour, cabbages, eggs and meat. "agetako" is also Japanese food which is fried "takoyaki(たこ焼き)". Do you know or have you eaten them? I made the rounds of the booth. When I found my friends, I dashed to them and made them buy our products.
I also performed a band in the stage. I was a vocal and played Japanese punk songs in a band, which were "anatani(あなたに)" and "chiisanakoinouta(小さな恋のうた)" sang by MONGOL800 and "stay gold" and "dear my friend" sang by HI-STANDERED. A lot of my friends came and aroused the mood, so I enjoyed and jumped a lot. Our motto was youthfulness, it is called in Japanese "seishun(青春), so my costume was a high school uniform. We also made it a rule to wear colour tights. I wore blue tight. So it seemed a kind of a gag. This is the picture.
3rd day, we sold the foods like we did 2nd day. We also see the live of B-DASH which is the artist in Japan. It was awesome!! They sing some songs not in Japanese, English, any other languages, but in their own language. My favorite song is "CHO".

☆Fancy dress contest☆

We have 3days at School Festival. The first day is Fancy dress contest. Second and third day are Festival, some comedians and singers perform, many clubs play music and dance, and there were many booths. When I was 1st& 2nd grade, I took part in Fancy dress contest with my friends, and we were champion at this contest. When I was 1st grade, our theme was 'Alice in wonder land'. About 30 people dressed up such as Alice, soldiers of card, king, queen and rabbit. I dressed up small king. It's handmade all of them. We have to walk 4km as dress costume. Start is Yamanashi University, then Takeda St and shopping arcade. It's important to walk in shopping arcade. Because staff(working shop here) is judge of contest. We had to show our costume for them. We said 'we hope to do good business in your shop' each shops. Then we clapped our hands only one time after say 'Yo'. This perform is lucky form in Japan. We went to Kofu Station and Castle of Maizuru. We had lunch here. When we finished lunch, we ran to Yamanashi University (about1.5km). It was very hard. When I was 2nd grade, our theme was 'Disney land'.We dressed us such as Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pooh, Monster's Inc and Peter Pan.I dressed up Tinker Bell.Do you think my Tinker Bell is cute?
